May all you dreams come really true and say you a big thank you for reading me and encouraging me every single week :) If I could I embrace you all! The 2012 was an amazing year for many reasons and I'll keep it in my heart forever!

Today I want to show you something about my new treasure! I love it so much, I consider it my treasure really! My December Daily Album. Today I'll show you only the cover so If you want to see more... stay tuned and in this week you will see more and more :) ihhihihihihi

Materials you need:

I love this mini... have I said it? :)
Have you finished your december daily mini album?

I would something to embellish my cover but to not fill it too much. Something like a title or similar.
So I thought to create a label for my book and nothing was better than to use the framelits :) I have create a big label book using the kraft cardboard. I have cut it on the cardboard and on a leftover of patterned paper.

I want to show you it complete....

Embellish your label with stamps, I have stamped "celebrating december using the amazing stamps from the studio calico kit, I have turned around it on the right side of it, the twine and I have added a christmas bell making a knot.

I have cut two snowflakes with the right framelits, one from the white cardstock and another from the vellum, and place them one on the another, add the brad in the center and apply it to the cover with the hot glue.

I have finally applied it with the hot gun glue to the cover. Insert your embellishments , like some adhesive pearls and gems, a little blackboard, and a banner :)

I hope you like it :)

Have a wonderful new year full of all you dream and stay tuned to see the inside of my album :)

Love, Lory

Brown bag winter layout

Hi again! I hope you had wonderful Christmas time! I had! :)
My last projects - altered gift bags and tags brought to my mind the idea to come back to one of my ongoing projects - brown paper bag layouts! I've got a mini album with these pages - and looks like it was high time to make a new one!
I found a perfect, old winter photo of my cousins - and focused on red, pink and white color palette.
Here is the list of products I used:
- Sizzix dies: Sizzix Framelits Die Set 3PK - Frame, Snowflake (657906), Sizzix Framelits Die Set 3PK - Snowflakes (657909), Sizzix Sizzlits Die - Card, Scallop Circle Insert (657996), Sizzix Sizzlits Die - Card, Ribbon Insert (657995).
- Papers - 7 Dots Studio - "Hopefully" collection
- Inks and Pearls: Ranger Distress Inks and Liquid Pearls
- others: hot glue, craft glue, paper bags, white paper, pebbles.

I took some paper and paper bags and started cutting out the elements. Very fast I had my composition ready!

Later I inked my snowflakes, layered them one on the top of another with some 3 D foam and decorated them with Liquid Pearls (Ranger).

With some simple embellishments my paper bag layout was ready!

I love projects made with recycling or very common supplies - and brown bags are surely one of them: prefect color, shape and inspirational texture... I hope you will try using them too!

Happy creating - and best wishes for the coming New Year!!!
xoxo

Hexagons are for life not just for Christmas!

I hope you all had a very Happy Christmas Day and enjoyed time with family and friends. Our family get together included great grandparents and great grandchildren - exhausting but fun.

And yes I did complete the hexagon project -

It's an i-pad or tablet cover - made from a range of Japanese fabrics - I liked the idea of traditional patchwork used for a cover for some of the latest technology!

Not only does it protect the i-pad or tablet- it also makes it different to everyone elses - even maybe a disguise - because it's not obvious what the cover contains!
Was it a good present? yes it was, and it was very easy.  I will be making something else using my hexagon dies and the big shot machine next year - don't ask what because I don't know yet!
Have a very Happy New Year.

Greetings Cards

Hi everyone!

December is already at our doorstep and it’s time to start creating our greeting cards! Today we’ll create two cards created around a same die: Welcome Mr Snowman!

Here are the dies I used for these two cards:

-Snowman 658278
-Tags by Hero Arts 658279
-Framelits 657938

Supply list:

Papers: Echo Park
Cardstock: American Crafts
Stamps: Hero Arts
Inks: Black Versafine, Satin Red

I totally fell for this snow man and its pretty face!

For the first card, I used a 20x20 cms kraft cardstock that is folded in half. 2 scraps of patterned paper decorate the front and back of the card.

I used white cardstock for the body of the snow man, kraft for the hat and green & red patterned paper for the scarf and the holly.

Start by stamping your shapes with black Versafine. Then cut each shape with your Big Shot.

Don’t hesitate to glue some elements with 3D adhesive (ie the hat).

The nose and berries are colored with a felt-tip pen.

The title "Best Wishes" is made with stamps.

For the second card, I only used the round head of the snow man! The tag is a Framelits die cut.
The title "Happy Holidays" comes from the stamp that’s part of the "Tags by Hero Arts" set.

Here are two cards easy to realise with few supplies! But they will be liked for sure!

See you next Thursday!

Karine

-Snowman 658278
-Tags by Hero Arts 658279
-Framelits 657938

Matériel :

Papiers : Echo Park
Cardstock : American Crafts
Tampons : Hero Arts
Encres : Versafine noire,Satin Red

A jeudi !

New Year Greeting Card

Merry Boxing Day to You all,
I hope you have had a nice and relaxing Christmas. After couple of days of lying on the sofa, watching TV, eating, and reading, it is nice to grab again your paper crafting supplies and get creative, right?

I’m sure many of you are visiting your friends on New Year’s evening. I’m also sure your friends would love to get a hand-made greeting card with your hand written new year’s wishes. This one is quick and easy to make – just follow these simple steps:

Items used:

How to make:
  1. Emboss clock images on white cardstock using Textured Impressions Embossing folder ‘Clocks’. Using circular motion rub blue stamping ink on the embossed image highlighting the embossed pattern.
  2. Mat the embossed image on dark blue texture paper leaving a thin border around the edges. Attach to card front.
  3. Die-cut numbers 0, 1, 2 and 3 from white chipboard. Cover them with silver Glimmer Glaze. Let dry.
  4. Cut a rectangle panel sized 4 cm x 10.5 cm from dark blue paper. Glue numbers on the panel.
  5. Using two-sided tape attach two pieces of satin ribbon under the rectangle panel. Adhere to card front.

Enjoy the festive season!

Love,

Home is where the Heart is

Just a quick blog today as I'm sure you are all busy visiting friends and family and polishing off the last of the mince pies etc.

I hope that Santa made all your Christmas wishes come true, I spent the time at home with my family and I wouldn't want it any other way thank you very much.

Here is a little something I made for my Mum using a shop bought wooden heart and decorated with the Bigz Tattered Poinsettia (658261) embossed with the Textured Poinsettia Pattern Set (658270)

See you all in the New Year!

It's Christmas today!

Hello everyone!

First of all, I would like to wish you all a WONDERFUL and MERRY Christmas! May your day be filled with love, happiness, creativity and your loved ones!

Today, I'd like to share with you the front page of my December Daily journal - a journal in which you create a page a day during the whole month of December. This concept was created by Ali Edwards.

The most important in this project is take a photo (or more!) a day and then, add them to your project!

This is what I used to create this album :

First of all, what you have to do is prepare your album : cover the entire cover (outside only) with black chalkboard paint - it is very important that you let it dry for at least 12 hours.

Add several layers (I'd say 3) and let dry between each layer.

Once it's dry, you can start drawing and doodling with white chalk on your cover! It's VERY fun! :)

Then you have to embellish it!

What I did is cut the snowflake first, but I used my Big Shot to create the Snowflake Rosette into newspaper paper!

Simply add a thin layer of gesso onto a scrapbook newspaper -like paper and let it dry.

Grab your extended pads and your Snowflake Rosette and cut the design into the paper.

Fold and glue.

Then place it on your cover using 3D foam tabs.

What I love with BIGZ dies is that they cut into almost everything! Those Glitter papers are just amazing for this time of the year - it's festive, fun and adds sparkle and joy to any kind of project!

I cut my Tattered Poinsettia flowers die into my Silver Glitter paper and love it!

Simply use them in several different pages, not to overwhelm the eyes too much with too much glitter, and then it's going to be perfect! :)

Voilà!

Are you making a December Daily album too? I want to see :)
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Céline

Happy Christmas

Happy Christmas to everyone!

And Happy Birthday to my fellow Christmas babies, Steve and Pete!

Merry Christmas Stockings

Hello everyone!!! It's Christmas Eve, the most enjoyable day of the year! I adore this day I don't know why, I think for its magical atmosphere!!!! I always think that something incredible can happen today like in the best christmas movies!!!! LOL

First of all I wish you all a very merry and bright Christmas! I wish you an amazing Christmas full of joy, family, health and all your desires came true from the deep of my heart!!!

Today I want to share with you a lovely project to do at last minute as well :)
Christmas Stockings!!!

Materials you need:

Let's go... they are very simple to build and adorable to donate as a little gift. You can also think to use them as place cards for your christmas table this night :)
You can use the sewing machine or decide to hand stitch :) as you prefer :)

Here they are in fabric and paper versions:) Aren't they so adorable?

Paper Stocking

Step 1
Cut  four different stockings in kraft and white paper and mix their pieces to create a lovely color combination. I mixed kraft and white card stock and added red and gold embellishments.

Step 2
Sew every single piece and once you have created the two stocking  sew them together leaving the top opened and insert the padding :)

Step 3
Embellish them! I cut a little primitive star from the gold glitter paper and sticked it on a white little tag.
Cut a snowflake from white card stock and add an adhesive pearl on its centre. Finally another kraft little tag from maya road and stamp your greetings:) I used Tecnique Tuesday stamps from Ali Edwards:)
Add twine and velvet red ribbon to finish the stocking. At the end the wood button with hot gun glue.

Fabric Stocking

the process is perfectly the same of the paper stocking but I have added the christmas bells and the rings to use them like keychains.
Pay attention when you die cut the fabric stockings because there will be one for the back and another for the front of the stocking. Fabric is different from the paper because has a reverse ;)

Have a wonderful, amazing, merry and bright Christmas:)
Love you all, Lory

Heart Garland

I am wrapping up my last few packages! This is a record for me- I am usually still working on it late into Christmas Eve... but this year we had Christmas early because the kids were heading out on various trips. What a nice feeling not to rush!

Here's a project showing another use for the Sizzix Create-A-Bow die.

I used the three different sized loops of the Sizzix Bow die to make a Heart Garland.  They are so simple and a great project to make while watching TV or talking on the phone.
  1. For each heart, you will need to die cut two sets of the small, medium, and large strips from a medium weight cardstock. If you go too heavy, the paper will be stiff and hard to bend (but you can train the paper to bend by curling it with a dowel or pen). If you use text weight, the paper will not hold the shape of the heart. What I used was a 65 lb. cardstock.
  2. Line up a stack of strips: long, medium, short.
  3. Insert a brad into each hole on one end the paper strips to create the first loop of the heart. Then take the other end of the short strip and put through the brad, then medium, then long. You have a loop! Now make another loop (in reverse order) and add to the brad, then close the prongs.
  4. Connect the hearts using a glue dot.
  5. At the end of the strand, punch a hole on the outer heart strip. Thread yarn, twine or hemp through the hole from inside the heart and use the other end to anchor the garland.
I also made some fun ornaments for the tree. Experiment with the loops to make different shapes- this is a really versatile die! And you can always use it as a bow for packages too!

Jennifer McGuire has come out with her list of Favorite Crafty Things- Die Cutting and my 3D Bow die made her list! She even did a very nice tutorial on how to assemble the bow. Thanks Jennifer!
I think it's around the 8:30 minute mark. But watch it all- she is great.

Here's another video by cutsathome.com showing how to assemble two versions of the bow.

Thanks for stopping by. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all... See you in 2013!

A little gift tag

Wrapping Christmas presents was a favourite pastime of mine. Often I would end up wrapping everyone's presents (except for those that were for me, of course!)

Now, I don't get to wrap many as we don't do anymore a big Christmas presents giveaway, but I still do the odd one like the one above which was for my lovely friend Julie. I already sent her a Christmas card, but it would be wrong to send her a present without a tag, so I made a little tag/Christmas card.
I used Tim Holtz Matchbook die to create the card, a die cut heart and a XO from Word Play alphabet die. The papers are all from My Minds Eye, Lost & Found Christmas.

Inside it has three pages though two of them are just plain decorative papers. The middle one is a ledger type of pattern which is perfect to write a note.

I hope you all have a very happy and beautiful Christmas, specially those like My lovely friend Pete and myself that were born on Christmas Day!
