Saying THANK YOU!

Hello everyone!
Today is my last day of posting on this gorgeous blog, but you won't get rid of me that easily! :)
It's been an incredible year creating and blogging for Sizzix and I can't thank them enough for the trust and kindness - it's been fantastic working for them the last year!

But I won't stop using Sizzix products, of course, how can I?

You'll be able to find my layouts, mini albums and cards made with the latest Sizzix products on my blog : www.celinenavarro.com

In the meantime, here are some cards I made during Stitches, where I was demoing for Sizzix  such a fun and great experience!

Here's a list of products I used for these cards :

I hope you will like those! :)
Feel free to visit my blog for more Sizzix projects in the upcoming days, weeks and months :)

Thinking of You layout

Hi!

This week I would like to show you a layout.

Items used:
Big Shot Machine (655268)
Paper Glitz Design - Cashmere Dame
Stickers Glitz Design - Cashmere Dame
Flower-ribbon
Pigment Ink - Pink
Crystals - Pink

As you can see I used many dies to cut elements for this layout. I cut the butterflies and lace.

To make the butterflies more textural I used French Connection Set embossing folder.

I used stamp from Sizzix Framelits Die Set 6PK w/Stamps - Flora to make the title.

I used Cargo Stencil Number Set to show the age of my daughter.

Have a nice day,

 Daria.

Big Shot Machine (655268)
Sizzix Movers & Shapers Magnetic Die Set 11PK - Cargo Stencil Number Set (657841)

Sizzix Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die - Vintage Lace (657481)
Sizzix Texture Trades Embossing Folders 3PK - French Connection Set (657192)
Sizzix Framelits Die Set 6PK w/Stamps - Floral (657776)
Бумага Glitz Design - коллекция Cashmere Dame
Наклейки Glitz Design - коллекция  Cashmere Dame

Make your own background!

Hello!

Embossing has been a very popular technique in my scrapbook classes over the last few years. People like that you can emboss paper and turn any piece of paper into a new one, adding texture and a 3D effect to your crafty projects.

Today, I would like to show you a 8x8 layout I made, mixing patterned paper with white cardstock that I previously embossed and inked!

But first of all, here's what you'll need for this layout :

  • Big Shot (655268)
  • Sewing and measuring Tape Embossing Folder set (657671)
  • Papers (Studio Calico)
  • Stamps (Studio Calico, Technique Tuesday)
  • Badge (October Afternoon)
  • Wood veneers (Studio Calico)
  • Alphas (American Crafts)
  • Inks (Versafine)
  • Mists (Studio Calico)
  • Cut'n'Dry foam (Ranger)

First of all, you need to cut a piece of white cardstock size 4x4". Then, insert it once inside the embossing folder and run it through your Big Shot.

As the width of the embossing folder is 4", you just have to run it through your Big Shot once.

Once your white cardstock is embossed, grab your favorite Studio Calico mists and add colors to the top embossed designs, using a cut'n'dry foam.

While you let this dry, start glueing your picture on the upper right side.

You can start stamping your background (here I used a ROAD TRIP stamp by Technique Tuesday) and create embellishments with title stamp (like the I love this life stamp by Technique Tuesday).

Once your embossed paper is dry, glue it at the top of the paper, near your photo.

Use your sewing machine and sew all around the edges.

Add your title, wood veneer embellishments, badge and label and you're good!

I am loving this size more and more so you might see more of these layouts in the near future! :D

Have a great day!

Winter Mini Book

Hello!

Today let me show you a part of a mini album I teach in whole France this winter!

Here are the dies used in this project, the very ones that my students will get to work with:

-658283Sizzix Textured Impressions Embossing Folder w/Stamp - Snowflake Background Set
-658270 Sizzix Texture Fades Embossing Folders 2PK - Textured Poinsettia Pattern Set
-658255 Mini Snowflake Rosette

I chose to work with the dry embossing technique to give volume to my lay-outs.
The latest Sizzix dies are the perfect match! I used “winter” embossing folders such as the Poinsettia flowers and the snowflakes.
An advice though: it is better to use smooth white paper, like Bristol sheets. It will be easier to work with inks.

With a cut’n dry sponge and Adirondack inks, add colour to your sheets by making slow circular moves. Mix the colours. Add small silver beads to the core of the flowers for the festive aspect.

For the second embossed page, I used a matching stamp to obtain printed 3D snowflakes!
Start by stamping you white sheet with grey ink, then insert your stamped paper in your embossing folder. The patterns should match. Use your Big Shot for embossing and you’re done!

Work on the corners with red Adirondack ink, though you’ll need to leave some white in your sheet for brightness.

Then use dies to embellish your cover.

The cover has the same colours as in the rest of the album. It is a mix of beige and grey paint.
I added patterns with a stencil, stamps and brown and black inks.
The 3D snowflakes are Sizzix dies. Within a few minutes and a few folds, they bring the essential finishing touch to your cover! I added small silver beads at their centre.

I hope you liked my mini album!

See you next Thursday!

Bonjour !

-658283Sizzix Textured Impressions Embossing Folder w/Stamp - Snowflake Background Set
-658270 Sizzix Texture Fades Embossing Folders 2PK - Textured Poinsettia Pattern Set
-658255 Mini Snowflake Rosette

A jeudi prochain !

Wish List!

Christmas Dies and embossing folders are a great investment as they can be used and reinvented year after year. The die/Folders that should be on every one's wish list this year are the Bigz Die - Tattered Poinsettia (658251) and Texture Fades Embossing Folders 2PK - Textured Poinsettia Pattern Set (658270).

The Poinsettia die is not just for Christmas though, It makes a lovely sunflower, great leafy foliage, cute daisy and I'm sure you can think of dozens more ideas. It works equally well on a card or layout, fashion accessory or home decor item, but it is when it is partnered with the matching embossing folder that the magic really starts to happen.

We start by die cutting the parts of the flower, I am using silver card for the simple reason that it shows the embossing really clearly. Next, carefully place the die cut into the folder flush with the corresponding embossing area and run it through the machine to create that wonderful leafy detail.

Here is a super quick idea using the poinsettia cut and embossed from ivory card before inking to enhance the embossed detail. The flower centres are decorated using various shades of adhesive green gems to match the vase/ bottle.

Embossing and inking

Hi there!

Here is a layout especially created for the EntreArtistes event that I host with Céline Navarro several times a year. This class will be taught for the last time last week-end in Paris
I used only one Sizzix die on this layout but let me say that it’s its main component and it really inspired me.
Here are the references of this nice hexagon embossing folder. Hexagons are so trendy nowadays!

657814 Sizzix Textured Impressions Embossing Folders 2PK - Free Spirit Florals Set

Let’s start by embossing white paper with the help of the Big Shot. Then I used my favourite inks (Colorbox yellow and pink) and cut’n dry to colour my background.

Then I cut out each hexagon shape (including the incomplete ones) and I partially reconstituted the pattern on the background. The edges are outlined with a thin-tipped black pen to make the whole stand out. Really nice effect, don’t you think? It brings volume and contrast to my creation, which, I must say, is one of my favourites of all times! What about you?

See you next Thursday!

Bonjour !

657814 Sizzix Textured Impressions Embossing Folders 2PK - Free Spirit Florals Set

A jeudi !

Embossing makes me happy!

Hello everyone!

Christmas is just around the corner and I've ONLY got started on my December Daily album! Before I can even show you pages using my favorite Christmas products in my album, I wanted to share this layout with you :)

My friends Angie and Gilles are expecting a baby (boy or girl, we don't even know!) or December 25 and we did a photo shoot back in September, it was so much fun! Now I just can't stop scrapping their photos, they are just beautiful :)

To make this layout, you'll need :

First of all, you need to cut a piece of white cardstock 8"x6". Then, insert it once inside the embossing folder and run it through your Big Shot.
Insert it a second time inside your embossing folder, making sure the designs overlap each other and match.
run it through your Big Shot but be sure that it doesn't crush over your first designs.

Once your white cardstock is embossed, grab your favorite Distress ink and add colors to the top embossed designs, leaving the inner part white.

Add some dots of mists here and there to add more color.

Let it dry.

then add your photo, embellishments and title! :)

Doesn't it look great?

Feel free to share what this layout inspired you! :)

Take care!
Céline

Waiting for Christmas

Good afternoon everyone! How are you?
Yesterday I have taught a Christmas workshop :) Using sizzix products is so fun and you can create really amazing things! Today I want to show you something from my mini book :)

Materials you need:

Here some shots about my mini, really fun and really easy! I had a lot of fun using the mebossing folders and the embossing w stamps folder, they give a real cool touch to your projects!

HOW TO MAKE IT:

I have created a pocket folding in a half a white bazzill cardstock and kraft cardstock for the inside. size 13cmx30,5, fold them in half and sew on the left and right side. I have added two little tags and stamped "december" and add a maya road white flower with the hot gun glue.

for the inside of this mini album I have created many lovely and tiny journaling cards with a lot of details. the size of the little cards is 6,5cm x 8,5 cm.

Take a look:

Stay tuned because I'll post something more about this lovely mini in the following days :) so follow me:)

Simple embossed gift box

Happy Wednesday everyone,

This week I wanted to share with you an easy gift box you will make very quickly. We are now entering the ‘gift giving season’ so you may even want to have some boxes in stock :)

Even though there are a lot of gift box templates available in web I decided draw my own pattern. I wanted to embellish the box with embossed images so the rectangle part in the middle has the height of an embossing folder. The curved top and bottom I draw using a dessert plate as my template. Simple and easy!

 Here’s a list of materials I used:
For the black box I used a 20.5 cm x 26 cm rectangle piece of basic black cardstock. I scored and folded the sides (at 2 cm and 14 cm), and trimmed the curved top and bottom edges using my pre-cut box template as cutting pattern. Then I used a stylus for scoring the curved lid folds – a round dessert plate was a prefect template for the curved line.

For the box front and back I cut two rectangles from white cardstock, sized slightly smaller than the box width. I die-cut an opening on one of the rectangles and embossed them with Bohemian Lace embossing folder. I inked the white embossed panels with purple stamping ink and glued down on the box front and back. I finished the box with stamping a sentiment text with white ink and decorated it with a paper flower and folded leafs.

For the grey gift box I used the same box template, but instead of embellishing it with an embossed panel I placed the box inside an embossing folder and run through my Big Shot. I wanted to highlight the embossed images a bit, so I inked them gently with light stamping ink. As final step I attached two strips of red satin ribbon on top and bottom of the embossed image. Done!

I hope this will inspire you to make your own gift box variations of this simple pattern.

Have a nice week!

Love,
