Snowy layout with Dalton by Karine

Hello!

I’m still deep into winter with my snowy pictures! Here is a new lay-out that matches with last week’s mini album :-) If you haven’t seen it yet, feel free to go to last week’s blog post!

Supply list:

Background paper: Jenni Bowlin Studio
Cardstock: American Crafts
Alphabets: Pink Paislee, Basic Grey, Jenni Bowlin Studio
Embellishments: May Arts, Ephéméria, Studio Calico

Dies:
658300: Sizzix Big Shot Starter Kit
658779: Sizzix Texture Fades Embossing Folders 2PK-snowflake-pattern-plaid-set
659958: Sizzix Bigz Die-Banners & Hearts

I used leftovers from my Vacances à la neige kit to create this lay-out which star Caroline and her dear Dalton! Aren’t they cute?

I started by embossing cardstock with a snowflake-patterned folder to add volume to my page. Some other elements, like pictures or pattern papers will come atop this embossed cardstock without hiding it completely.

As far as embellishments are concerned, we have here some woodies, little dots and some hearts that have been cut from the Banners & Hearts die that I like so much! I definitely love these little hearts ‘shape! They are cut out of silver lining, my newest addiction!

Then I added the title “Un amour de Dalton” using different alphabets boards :-)

I hope you liked my page!

Have a lovely day

Karine

Bonjour !

Cardstock : American Crafts
Alphabets : Pink Paislee, Basic Grey, Jenni Bowlin Studio
Embellissements : May Arts, Ephéméria, Studio Calico

Dies utilisés:
658300: Sizzix Big Shot Starter Kit
658779: Sizzix Texture Fades Embossing Folders 2PK-snowflake-pattern-plaid-set
659958: Sizzix Bigz Die-Banners & Hearts

Mini Album Snowy Holidays by Karine

Mini Album Snowy Holidays

Hello!

Let me show you today my latest wintery album! This “frosty” mini album isn’t that small after all since its size is 20x20cm. Your prettiest pictures from your holidays in the mountains will perfectly fit in this album.

Supply list:

Vacances à la neigekit
Cardstock: American Crafts
Papers: Studio Calico, 4heures37
Alphabets: Pink Paisley
Wood Embellishments: Studio Calico
Stickers: 4heures37
Sequins: Ephéméria

Dies:

658300 : Sizzix Big Shot Starter Kit
658778 : Sizzix Texture Fades Embossing Folders 2PK-birch-trees-candy-stripes-set
660040 : Sizzix Bigz Die with Textured Fades-Layered Snowflakes

I am very proud of this mini album! It contains my favorite pictures at present and I love its color combo and its 1001 details!

For the first page I had fun cutting an XXL pretty snowflake out of Kraft cardstock!
It is glued with 3D adhesive and in its center I inserted a wood accent (glued in 3D), a small piece of ribbon and silver sequins. This pretty snowflake is self-sufficient and is a good way to let know what awaits you after this page!

To stick to the Nature atmosphere, I embossed a white cardstock with a “branches” folder. As for embellishments, I embossed some stamped patterns and added splashes with watercolor to bring some more softness to the whole…

Here are some pictures of this wintery album…

See you in a few!

Hello Card

Hello! It's Anna here to share some ideas using Sizzix products.
Today I'm showing you a quick and easy card for days when you have 1 less hour in your day ;)
How did we ever scrapbook before the Big Shot??? :D

sizzix big shot - hello card - embossing - by Anna Drai - cafecreativo (1)

To start this card I cut a card base out of yellow cardstock. I then cut a slightly smaller piece of white card. I embossed this piece with the Textured Impressions Embossing Folders - Numbers.

sizzix big shot - hello card - embossing - by Anna Drai - cafecreativo (2)

The 'hello' die comes in the Sizzix 'You and Me' die set. I used other dies that come in the Thinlits - Hello Life for arrow, and cut the tag with a Tim Holtz die.
I like to add adhesive 3-D foam dots for an interesting pop-up effect.
Well, I hope you enjoyed it!
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

Items used:
cardstocks (yellow, white, kraft, red)
scrap of patterned papers

Per le amiche italiane! :)

White on White by Lilith

Subtle details are my favourite. For this layout I decided to work with dies and an embossing folder. Combining both and going with a white on white look was just the effect I was going for. I cut out the doily shape from some white cardstock using the doily shape from the  Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 2PK - Doily & Doily Border and also embossed some cardstock with dots (with the Sizzix Textured Impressions Embossing Folders 2PK - Houndstooth & Dots Set ). I then cut out a scalloped circle from the embossed cardstock. These two pieces I then layered one on top of the other. The rest of the layout was built up around these two pieces

Embossed details with Lilith

I love details and always try to add them to my layouts. For today's layout I wanted to focus on the embossing folders. They are such a great tool and add oodles of detail

I started by choosing some grey cardstock that would work with some grey patterned paper. I picked a couple of embossing folders and embossed several strips of the grey cardstock and patterned paper. These strips are the base of the layouts. On top I added my photo and a cluster of embellishments.

To create a sense of movement and flow I placed some embossed butterflies. They also help draw the eye towards the photo. I love having a closer look at the layout to see the embossed details

I hope you'll get your folders out and emboss pretty details onto some paper.

Happy Scrapping

Lilith

Bright butterflies

Another week, another card. I don't know what it is that makes butterflies so great for cardmaking: their relatively simple shape, the multitude of colours you can make them in, the idea of their lightness or something fourth? Whatever the answer, I often find myself creating cards where butterflies play a role. This week is no exception.

My first step was to cut a piece of watercolour paper to a size that would fit in the butterf ly folder from the Textured Impressions Embossing Folders 2PK - Butterfly & Garden Set and run it throug my Big Shot.

Next up I used masking tape to attach the embossed piece of watercolour paper to a heavy piece of cardboard with the debossed side facing up. Then I drenched the entire paper with water and once it was good and wet I started adding colours to the debossed butterflies. Using Distress Inks and a lot of water I coloured in som of the butterflies in 4-5 different colours and the added a light touch of yellow or pink to the rest of the butterflies so they wouldn't be stark white against the coloured ones. It looks a hot mess while you work on it but don't give up - once you let it dry (or take a heat gun to it) it will sharpen up some and once you cut it into size and mount it on your card it looks gorgeous.

I like the fact that the colours bleed outside the lines of each butterfly - because you can still tell one butterfly from the other because of the debossing.

I needed to add a sentiment to my card and I decided to go with the Thinlits Die Set 12PK - Ornate Labels as a place for my sentiment to go. The set gives you the option to die cut various sizes and styles of labels and then layer them for a cool look.

Besides from the label with the sentiment, I tied a large black bow around the patterned paper and added some enamel dots in colours similar to the once I used to colour the butterflies. Everything was then mounted on pink cardstock and added to a black card base.

Butterfly monochromatic cards

Hello everyone! It's again my turn to bring you brand new Sizzix inspiration today! Recently I created 3 monochromatic cards (one color with a few hues of it) in my favorite color palette. Today I would like to share with you how to make similar cards, because these are very easy to re-create and I think these are perfect for any occasion. My cards are with "just because" words, so I can use them whenever I will need.

Main decorations on my cards are large butterflies, which I cut out and embossed using Sizzix Bigz Die w/Texture Fades - Layered Butterfly set. To make smaller decorations, I used also wings from the Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 2PK - Heavenly set, matching butterfly theme. Cards were supposed to be light, very layered and dimensional, so I decided to use vellum and cut out large decorative doily using die from the Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 2PK - Doily & Doily Border set.

As my bakcgrounds are made using mediums, I decided to use them one more time to color large butterflies. I used color blooms and color shine mists and at the top I inked embossed parts using pale brown ink and added a touch of white gesso, as I always do.

Stave with treble clef from the Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 11PK - Juke Box & Music set is a very versatile motif, I decided to use it in a very pale, delicate version. Each of the layer (large butterfly, additional wings, stave and the words in scalloped circle) were adhered using 3D cubes, to add more dimension and depth.

I strongly encourage you to craete your own monochromatic set of card in your favorite colors, using amazingly beautiful and very versatile Sizzix dies and embossing folders!

Thank you for visit us today!
Have a lovely, creative weekend!

Witajcie! Moje kartki ozdobiłam neutralnymi napisami "just because", dzięki czemu mogę je wykorzystać kiedy tylko zajdzie taka potrzeba.
Wykorzystałam go w moich kartkach w bardzo delikatnej wersji, a pięciolinię wycięłam wykrojnikiem z zestawu Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 11PK - Juke Box & Music.

Gorąco zachęcam Was do stworzenia własnego zestawu monochromatycznych kartek, w Waszych ulubionych kolorach, wykorzystując niesamowicie piękne i uniwersalne wykrojniki i foldery do embossingu Sizzix!

Dziękuję za dzisiejsze odwiedziny na naszym blogu!
Życzę Wam cudownego, kreatywnego weekendu!

A nod to the 80's

This week I felt like creating a card with a nod to the neon trend that is raging through scrapbooking, card making, clothes and interior design. I never thought I'd fall in love with neon colours (I grew up in the 80's so I've had my fair share of neon things) but never say never, right?

My first step was to emboss a piece of white paper using the embossing folder that comes with the Big Shot Starter Kit and then take it outside to spray it using various glimmer mists and ink sprays. I started with the light yellow at the top, then the green and finally the dark turqoise. Once I had all the colours on the paper I went over the entire page with a light coating of the yellow glimmer mist, because I wanted the entire paper to have a bit of the sheen from the glimmer.

Now it was time to make the embossed paper work as the centerpiece for my card. I didn't want to overwhelm the paper with a lot of embellisments so I chose to add some cotton lace, seam binding, dymo tape greeting and a few sequins.

I am really pleased with the way the embossing stands out and disappears across the card because of the different colours I used. Embossing is such a fun and easy technique and I hope you are inspired to pull out some of your embossing folders.

Supply list:
Cardstock
Glimmer Mist (Tattered Angels)
Ink spray (Ranger)
Seam binding
Cotton lace
Dymo tape

Sequins

---o---

Sweet and layered baby cards

Hello Sizzix fans! Today I would like to show you two cards, created to celebrate the baby birth.
Children are born during the whole year and you never know when you will need a beautiful card with congratulations for the happy parents. To create my today's cards I used one of my favorite dies - Sizzix Bigz Die - Ornate Plate - I just love it, it's incredibly versatile. Since I decided to cut out my graphics with images of children in a round shape, an openwork motif of the Sizzix Bigz Die - Ornate Plate fits perfectly here, as a background for round images.

I really like to add some extra decorations to cut-outs. This time, I embellished doily lace with small dots of 3D paint, imitating adhesive pearls. On my cards can not be missing flower, and if we talk about flowers - the leaves also are very important. I have to admit, not for the first time, that Sizzix Bigz Die - Garden Greens is my favorite to cut leaves and twigs. This time after cutting the leaves, I covered them using heat embossing techinique. I did it quite freely, just to leave patterned paper visible in some places.
I combined white and holographic embossing powder, so my leaves have an interesting texture and sparkle beautifully in the sun. As usual, I cut twigs into smaller pieces - this way you can get some more smaller leaves and arrange them evenly in the composition.

Do stworzenia moich dzisiejszych kartek wykorzystałam wykrojnik Sizzix Bigz Die - Ornate Plate, przypominający koronkową serwetkę - uwielbiam go, jest niesamowicie uniwersalny. Ponieważ moje grafiki z wizerunkami dzieci postanowiłam wyciąć w kształt koła, okragły, ażurowy wzór z wykrojnika Sizzix Bigz Die - Ornate Plate idealnie tu pasował jako tło do okrągłych grafik.
