Masculine cards: Mustache!


Hello! This is Anna. Here I am again today with new cards that can be realized in the twinkle of an eye!
Father's Day is just around the corner and Sizzix have got just the thing for all your cardmaking needs: 6 free downloadable papers! The sentiment is included on the free papers, you have an option of cutting it out as a rectangle or to die cut it.
I have a little crush on mustaches and I think this papers are perfect for masculine cards for that man in your life.
This is one of the two cards I made:

I thought this card was perfect for having fun. I cut a mustache out of black cardstock and adhered it onto a skewer. Just a fun card with an unexpected gift.

Flag_of_Italy Per le amiche italiane! :)

Ciao a tutti! Ecco un nuovo appuntamento con Anna. Oggi vi propongo due nuove card... E' proprio il caso di dire due biglietti coi baffi!!! :D
In Inghilterra e in diversi Paesi del mondo, la festa del papà è vicina e gli amici di Sizzix hanno realizzato un kit digitale scaricabile gratuitamente! In Italia la festa si festeggia a marzo, ma le carte digitali di Sizzix possono andare bene per uomini e bambini, in ogni occasione dell'anno.
Infatti, questo kit digitale è perfetto per creare card o pagine con un look maschile, per festeggiare un compleanno, un anniversario o San Valentino.

Devo dire che la moda dei baffi è molto simpatica! Per riprendere il tema delle carte, ho creato le sagome dei baffi utilizzando due fustelle, come vedete nello schema in alto.
Ho tagliato prima un cuore e poi l'ho posizionato sopra la fustella Ornamental... ed ho ottenuto così baffi di due tipologie diverse.

Per la prima card, ho tagliato i baffi dal cartoncino nero e li ho incollati su uno spiedino di legno. I baffi diventano quindi un'allegra mascherina, che si può estrarre. In questo modo il biglietto contiene una piccola sorpresa, un regalino divertente!
Nel kit digitale ci sono anche tag con scritte a tema, che si possono tagliare a mano oppure si può usare una fustella, come ho fatto in questo caso.
Riguardo i baffi, una piccola curiosità: non mastico bene l'inglese quindi ho scoperto da poco che nella lingua inglese si utilizza il gioco di parole “I mustache you a question” per dire “I must ask you a question” ovvero “Ti devo fare una domanda”. Ecco un nuovo suggerimento per un'altra card ;)

Our Father!




Father's day is almost upon us here in the UK, and for those among you short of inspiration, you may get a creative kick start from the fab new collection of free downloadable papers created by our ace graphic designer Nicola. Follow this link to find out all about them.

 I made a really simple card using the papers and a Framelits die set from Paula Pascua'ls Fresh Moments collection, namely Hexagons - 658609.

 I started by choosing my papers and cutting out 5 hexagons using the 3rd smallest Framelits die in the set. Next I folded a dark blue (30 x 15cm) and ivory (28 x 14cm) in half. I used vintage Photo and Old paper Distress ink pads to deepen the colour around the edges of the die cuts and ivory card before mounting them together.

I trimmed around the edges of the hexagons in the top right hand corner and mounted a rectangle of the moustache paper inside the card before sealing around the edges to form a pocket. I decorated the edges using a pattern makers wheel to form rows of dots which I joined using a fine line marker pen to give a stitched effect.

 Finally, I cut around the printed tag and distressed the edges with a Faded Denim Distress ink pad before attaching an eyelet through the hole and threading with twine and string before popping the assembled tag into the pocket
