3D-Dahlia on top of a Box....

Hi there,

Today i want to show you how to make this 3-D- Dahlia... It is so easy.
But it looks so beautiful....and its made out of  a Daisy Die

All you for the Dahlia-Box is:
Sizzix Big Shot Plus Starter Kit (White & Gray)
(out of it the Box Thinlit and the Textured Impressions Plus Embossing Folder (Dots))
Sizzix Bigz Die - Flower, Daisies
Sizzix Bigz Die - Garden Greens

You need a lot of Daisy of each size....
and you need to roll up each petal - i took my fingernail for this.

I took yellow paper for the ovary...

And then i put them all on a brad....

Together with a green leave (Sizzix Bigz Die - Garden Greens)
i put it onto the box (I embossed the box with the Textured Impressions Plus Embossing Folder (Dots) out of the Big Shot Plus Starter Kit)...

finished.

have a great weekend, Stephanie

Hallo Ihr Lieben,

heute möchte ich euch die Dahlienblüte zeigen, die ich aus lauter Gänseblümchen-Dies
gemacht habe...

Was ihr dafür braucht:
Sizzix Big Shot Plus Starter Kit (White & Gray)
(daraus das Box Thinlit und den Textured Impressions Plus Embossing Folder (Dots))
Sizzix Bigz Die - Flower, Daisies
Sizzix Bigz Die - Garden Greens

Baby Shower favours

Hi Sizzix friends!

Today I have prepared a couple of little boxes filled with sweets which are perfect for a Baby Shower as a party favours. Let me show you the boxes:

As you can see, I have used a combination of two colours which complement one another. I have alternated the colours in different details of the boxes to create a beautiful set.

Here are the materials you need to die-cut:

Blue, kraft and white cardstock, scrapbooking papers, the oval cards Framelits, the bodysuit Thinlit, the candy hearts embossing folder and the box and card die.

And here are the steps to create this cute set!

Die-cut the boxes and two cards for each box, one for the cover
and the other to go inside the box.

Draw a line using a white gel pen before embossing the top card.

Die-cut the bodysuits and make your own combination of colours and patterns and
glue the pieces on the cover of the box.

 And now the sweets bag:.

I have prepared a sweets bag to go inside the box. I have used the second card
I’ve die-cut as a background for the sweets bag.

To close the sweets bag I’ve die-cut these Framelits,

fold it and make two holes using a hole puncher.

Attach the bag to the card using a baker twine. To prevent the bag from moving,
you can use double-sided tape to fix it in place.

More details of this set:

I have used the following Sizzix products:

I hope you have enjoyed this set of boxes to use as a party favour. Thanks for your visit!

Have a creative and happy Friday!

Summer Mini album using Big Shot Plus Starter Kit

Hi everyone, it’s Anna here today, sharing a layout Sizzix.
I adore the new Sizzix Big Shot Plus starter Kit! Not only can you use these for box, layout, cards, but I’m going to show you how to use this kit to create a cute mini album.

I have started from two A4 sheets. I used the Big Shot Plus and the box die, included on the Starter Kit, two cut out two shapes from white cardstock.

Then, I cutted the unwanted areas and I combined the two shapes, as seen.
And once I had the album base created, the fun starts! I created the "hello" with Craft Asylum die and some embellishments with other dies from Starter Kit.
A simple and fast way to realize a nice mini album!

Per le amiche italiane! :)

Grazie per la visita

Summer's here - Flowers a plenty

Phew - it's raining, very gently - but it has made the temperature drop a little. Now don't get me wrong I love the summer - but it is nice that it's cool enough today for me to be able to think straight!
So I thought I'd have a little fun and see how fabric printing with sponges cut into flower shapes would work - now obviously I've used the amazing Bigz Dies and Big Shot Plus Machine  -http://www.sizzix.co.uk/product/660020/sizzix-big-shot-plus-machine-only-white-gray because it's the one I have at home.
So I used the Bigz Die - Flower Layers & Leaves by Dena Designs™ - 657690 to cut the sponges -

Choose a sponge that is between 1.5cm and 2cm deep - you can use the sponge with scourer attached but buy economy as the more expensive ones are too thick to cut well, but you are more limited on the size shape you can cut -
I had planned to decorate some t-shirts for my grandchildren - but decided to see how it all worked on some plain cotton. so I laid out newspaper and then plain paper on my dining room table and selected some fabric dyes, along with some plates, and plenty of kitchen roll I was ready to roll!
I decided to start with the daisy flower and some blue die -
as you can see the flower on the left in the picture is a bit mis-shappen because I pressed too hard on the sponge - but that can be covered or disguised as we progress.
I added a darker blue using the same flower shape, and then decided to use the large flower shape with pink - and I don't think I like it - so I'll cover that later -

so I added some more daisies in a deeper pink and tried over dyeing one of the paler pink flowers.
I also tried a leaf shape - but there was too much dye on the sponge and it's just a blob -

When there was less dye on the sponge it was much better -

but when I tried over dyeing a blue daisy with a yellow circle for the centre - oops!!

so I decided to add the yellow as petals -
Why am I showing you this when some of it clearly hasn't worked too well - it's because I want to show  you next week how I have managed to redeem it. I went to a silk painting class a few years ago and the teacher was amazing at showing us how to redeem our mistakes or disasters! and so I want to encourage you too.
So next week I hope to have added some net or voile, and some embroidery to enhance and to conceal - will it work - I don't  know yet - we'll all have to wait and see!!
Until next week enjoy the summer sun.

Summer Cards By Karine

Hi everyone!

It’s Thursday again! Here are two cards with trendy patterns that you will create really quickly!

Supply List:

Papers: 4heures37, Crate Paper
Cardstock: American Crafts
Stickers: Studio Calico
Spray ink: Aladine Dye Ink Mer du Sud
Black Versafine ink
Stamps: Paper Source
Stabilo Pen68

Dies

650515: Sizzix Big Shot Plus Starter Kit
660804: Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 3PK-happiness-phrases

These are two simple cards that I really like! Undoubtedly filled with summer colours & trendy products: Pineapple and pink flamingo!

Start by printing these two patterns on a white paper. Add some masking tape and some flower dies cut out of pattern paper.

Add a little color to your patterned background with felt-tip pens or spray ink.

Cut two words “Hello” out of scrap papers with your Happiness Phrases die set. This die shape is quite thin so gluing it will prove difficult. I found a better solution: sew it with your sewing machine!

Have a lovely day,

Karine

Smile!

I am not the world's greatest photographer, I do have a decent camera but it is always set on automatic. These days most of my snaps are taken using my phone and some of them are great. Its so important to compose your shot and get the light right  because without those two things being in place all the fancy equipment and Photoshop trickery is a waste of time.

Having said all that, I do love old cameras from the fifties and sixties. It's a time when photography was becoming accessible to all and companies were fighting for a share of the 'cheap and cheerful' market with ever more colourful plastic creations.

Some of those cameras look fabulous today, I even have a private Pintrest board dedicated to 1950's consumer goods featuring many such cameras. It makes me smile!

And so to today's blog, Sizzix have just released a new collection of Bigz dies designed by the good people of Echo Park. I had so much fun with these big, bold shapes while making projects for our trade shows and they are perfect for appliqué too. But today is all about the camera die.

Today I have used the Bigz camera die, the Thinlits alphabet set Alphanumeric and the Textured Impressions Butterfly Lattice set. Click on the highlighted text to see the individual products.

I started by die-cutting all the elements to make up my camera, the main body and the focus ring are backed with mount board to add a little depth to the shapes. I love this dusty pink, it's one of those classic American 1950's colours which I love so much so I used it for the body of my camera. as you can see, I embossed the pale metallic gold card with my lattice folder, it gives the perfect gold anodised look so popular at the time.

I trimmed about 5mm from the top of the embossed rectangle and mounted it onto the brown rectangle before attaching to the main body of the camera.

Next, I added the other elements. I used a hole punch to pop out a tiny pink circle which I added to the lens to create a highlight effect.

While I was taking the individual letters from the Alphanumeric die set I had a revelation! I saw a word within a word which changed my approach to the whole card. I cut a rectangle of the lovely retro green/blue card and rounded off the bottom corners with a punch before placing all the letter dies across the base spelling the word 'SMILE' before removing the letter 'M' and 'E' and passing it through my Big Shot machine.

I die-cut the letters 'M' and 'E' from the pink card and attached them to the rectangle using thin strips of adhesive foam to add dimension. Next, I used my trusty Dymo machine to print out the legend 'YOU MAKE...'  above the word 'SMILE'; the 'ME' of course is part of the word.

Here's the finished card, I think the Dymo strip adds to the retro vibe?
it makes me smile anyway!
