NYC layout - with the Sizzix Framelits Die Set 5PK w/Stamp

Hey everyone! How's your Summer going?

Everything is doing great here, Summer is for me the perfect moment to scrapbook and catch up on class projects :)

I would like to show you another layout I made using the Sizzix Framelists die St with Hero Arts stamps - I LOVE LOVE LOVE those!

Look at this set? These are perfect for any Spring/Summer projects, whether it is cards, mini albums or layouts!

For this layout, you'll need :

First of all, you need to stamp, with two different inks, your rubberstamps onto a white cardstock or a light patterned paper.
Instead of cutting around the stamped image yourself, here comes the GENIUS of these dies : place the appropriate die on top of your stamped image, run it through your Big Shot and you'll get your stamp perfectly cut! :)

Here's a video filmed at CHA that shows you how it works!

Today it's time to show you one of the things made for  the wedding of my friend last july.... do you remember?

the theme of this wedding party was the travel and the colors turquoise and white....this is big, 50x70 cm... it should be a good idea for a party or for embellish your home !!!! I love handmade home decor!:)

Materials you need:
a big wooden frame 50x70 cm
turquoise spray color
gesso to give a shabby touch to you frame
organza
white card stock from bazzill
kraft card stock from bazzill
a polaroid stamp from studio calico
letters stamps
cord
wooden pins
patterned papers for the banners and old book paper
hammer and nails

How to make it:

  • Use the spray acrylic color to paint the wood frame
  • Let it dry and give to it the cool shabby effect with the gesso, let it dry
  •  With some pieces of cord make some lines and stop them to the frame with nails in this way you will have lines where you will hold polaroid frames and tags with the name of your wedding guest. The theme of this frame is “the travels” that the bride and the groom have made together.
  • Make all the tags with white and kraft card stock, on the tags the guests names.
  • To decorate the frame I have inserted three different 3d flowers in 3 different sizes and I have applied them to the right top corner on the frame with the hot glue

Layout "Love you" by Karine

Hey Girls !

Remember the mini album I showed you on the 12th July? Here is a matching page made with paper scraps from the same kit!
I only added white paper to use in my Big Shot with my Sizzix dies.

Here are the dies I used:

-657789 Love set
-657793 Heart & Wings set

I‘ve not had the opportunity to use these new sets yet but I so wanted to!

A very romantic choice, where I will be using hearts shapes at will! I’m loving it!

Let’s recycle a bit, first. I used all my October Afternoon stickers in my mini album so that left me with the empty chart. I peeled it off and glued some paper scraps as a replacement for my stickers.

It looks great, doesn’t it?

Then I glued this chart on my background and started decorating. I glued a small picture (6x8cms) with 3D foam adhesive.

I cut the word "love“ (Love set) out of white paper and glued it next to my picture with my tube of glue, taking care not to go over the brim of it. Then I outlined the edges of the word with a thin-tipped black pen to make it stand out more. I really like this die and it will be so perfect to use for titles or card making! One of my very favourite dies!

The little "heart pin" comes from the same set. I stamped it with black ink and shaded it with Adirondack Sunshine Yellow ink. I inserted it under my stickers chart and under my picture as well.

The magnificent "heart and wings" die has also been shaded with yellow ink. I applied yellow ink on the entire heart, and I only outlined the edges of the wings. Then I glued the whole under my title.

I also cut out two little hearts using the same set. They are also coloured in yellow. They’re glued with 3D adhesives and I added a little navy blue pearl as an extra accent.

I hope my layout will inspire you for future creations! See you next week with a new project!

Have a nice day!

Page "Love you" par Karine

Karine

Quick and easy Circle card

Today I would like to share a simple technique on how I make folded cards using framelits.

I love shaped cards but only if either are all four sides shaped, two sides (top and right) or just the one edge. I am weird like that! I can't stand cards that have three edges fancy and then the odd one without it.
Besides, sometimes I like to use really thick card (300gsm) card and to cut two layers of that thickness at once, the framelit may struggle. So cutting two (one at a time) seems like a good idea. Usually I take tow pieces that have been cut with the same die but in this case since I use a framelits set, I decided to change things up.

I die cut two circles using the Framelits plain Circles die set. I decorated the smaller one with a swirl and a leaf, both from Stephanie Barnard stamp and dies sets.

Then I took the larger circle and scored it about 1/2 ".

Added glue to only a small area of the scored flap.

And attached the top on.

Really simple

And it even stands up.

Wedding Decorations

Happy Wednesday everyone,

Last weekend we celebrated the wedding of my two dear friends. I had the honor to be a bridesmaid which made the big even more special. I participated in the wedding preparations with creating some decorations, and in this task my Big Shot was a great help!

The wedding theme colour was purple so therefore you see different shades of purple in the decorations, too.

Here’s a list of materials I used:

- Big Shot Machine (655268)
- Sizzix Accessory - Solo Wafer-Thin Die Adapter (656919)
- Sizzix Accessory - Cutting Pad, Extended, 1 Pair (655267)
- Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die - Regal Edging (657747)
- Textured Impressions Embossing Folders 4PK - Raspberry Frame Set (657717)
- Textured Impressions Embossing Folders 2PK - Tree & Flower Frame Set (657784)
- Framelits Die Set 6PK – Rectangles (657908)
- Movers & Shapers Magnetic Die Set 2PK - Mini Hearts Set (657212)
- Sizzlits Decorative Strip Alphabet Die – Alphabetical (657482)
- Pearlescent paper/thin cardstock (purple)
- Thin cardstock (light purple and white)
- Ribbon, rhinestones
- Two-sided tape, glue
- Repositionable tape

Framed Menu

Instead of placing printed menu cards at the wedding guest’s table we decided to display the menu at the buffet table. I took a standard A4 sized photo frame, printed the menu on heavy weight printing paper and placed it the frame. As decoration I cut with Regal Edging die a decorative strip from light purple thin cardstock. Super simple to make but looked nice and fancy.

Wedding Card

For the wedding card base I cut a 15x30 cm piece of light purple thin cardstock and folded it in half. Sure I could have used a ready-made 15x15 cm square card blank but I did not have one in right colour. In addition, I cut one 15x15 cm piece of the same cardstock for the card front.

I loved the image of ‘Tree & Flower Frame’ embossing folder and wanted the embossed picture to show both on the card front and on the inside. For creating the aperture I used the largest Framelits Rectangles die and cut a square at the top of the card front. Then I positioned the die at the same spot on the card base and cut another square. The Framelits dies are so simple to position you can see through the die. And for ensuring that the die would not move inside my ‘sandwich’ I took a little piece of repositionable tape and fastened the die before cutting.

Before attaching the embossed image on the backside of the card front aperture I adhered two pieces of ribbon on the bottom. The ribbon ends were secured on the back of the card front.

Then, using two-sided tape I attached the card front on the card base, embellished with two die-cut hearts, wedding couple monograms and a few rhinestones. The greeting text on the inside was written on a white square, cut with the same Rectangles die.

Place cards

The place cards were cut from purple pearlescent cardstock. I put the cards in the small frame embossing folder of ‘Raspberry Frame Set’ and run through my Big Shot. The scoring line in the middle helped me in positioning the cardstock inside the folder.

After making the first trial I realized that the pearlescent surface of the cardstock was breaking easily. The paper core was white so the cracks were a bit too visible on the dark purple card front. I solved the problem by putting a small piece of standard printing paper on the pearlescent paper before embossing. This trick prevented the surface from breaking.
The names were simply printed on light purple paper and attached inside the embossed frames. Done!

Have a nice and inspiring week!

Live, Relax & Dream layout - SPOTLIGHT on the STAMP/DIES kit!

Hi everyone! How are you? How's Summer like for you?

Let me share my new love today! The Sizzix Framelits Die Set w/Stamp!!!
What a fantastic combination! In the same package, you get the stamps AND the dies that cut around the edge of the stamp! I LOVE THIS!

Sizzix has partenered with Hero Arts on some crazy beautiful designs - gotta have them all

For this layout, I used the Sizzix Framelits die Set W/Stamp (657581) : what a cute cute cute set! I both used the kite stamp/dies and the DREAM word.

Of course, you'll need the best machine ever : a Big Shot.

Firs of all, you'll need to stamp the inside image of the kit, then cut it with a dies, and cut the yellow part of the kite with another dies.

Don't you want to try this out?! Look at all the different sets you can get!

Supplies

Papers (Echo Park); Stickers (Echo Park); Stamps (Sizzix, Bananafish Studios); Dies (Sizzix); Badge (Marcy Penner); Hexagones chipboards (Pink Paislee); Brads (Crate Paper).

....MORE 3D flowers!

I'm going a bit flower crazy at the moment, it just seems to be the summer thing to do I suppose. I was asked this week to create a few projects using the ever popular Tattered Florals die (656640) by Tim Holtz. I made a gift box and a few cards when the picture frame idea popped into my head, I had seen something similar made from metal so I thought 'Why not?'
I started by die cutting two flowers from My Mind's Eye paper with a music score pattern from the Lost & Found 2 collection. I inked around the edges to add a little depth and I took each flower and used a pair of scissors to cut between the petals to the centre of the flower. Next I overlapped two of the petals to make the flower more three dimensional before securing using a glue gun. In the third picture I have taken the other flower and I grip it with the tweezers to the left of the cut before rolling into a cone shape.
When I have my cone, I can relax my grip and let it open out a little before securing the edge with a glue gun. Once the glue is set I used the tweezers to start bending the edges of the petals to form a more natural looking flower.

Once the petals are formed with the tweezers I turn the flower over and where it forms a point I snip away the base using my scissors which makes it easier to attach it to the centre of the base flower which we made earlier. Now all I have to do is repeat the process a couple of dozen times!

When you have all your flowers, cover a plain wooden frame using the same music paper and seal/varnish using Decoart Gloss Glaze or a similar product of your choosing. Next, attach the flowers using the hot glue gun and spray a couple of layers of the glaze. While the second coat of glaze is still wet, sprinkle over mica and/or glitter before applying a final coat of the glaze.
