Felt Tic Tac Toe Game for Travelling with Kids

Hi friends!

Today we will use our Big Shot to make a Felt Tic Tac Toe game for use in travel with children.

Thanks to the velcro pieces do not fall, and it can be folded and stored in a small bag.

You Need:

Cut a square of felt of the desired size. Mark with a pencil line on the board. With the sewing machine and embroidery stitch, go over the lines and make a border around the board.

We will make 8 pieces, 4 of each color. Each piece has a base of a color, we must cut twice, and decorative detail in a contrasting color, we cut simple. Cut nine squares of Velcro (male and female).

To make each piece of flower: Sew the leaf to a flower, and the center to another flower. Sew Velcro to the flower with leaf, from the opposite side to which we have sewn leaf. Paste the two flowers with fabric textil glue, and let it dry with a weight on top.

To make each piece of heart: Sew Velcro to one of the hearts. Paste the two hearts of the base, and the heart stalled. Leave to dry with a weight on top.

Sew the squares of Velcro that we were on the dashboard.

What do you think? We'll see you next week with a new tutorial!

Ciao amici!

Back to school - kit bag

It's the beginning of September and now suddenly it's back to school, and my granddaughter, Abi is starting school - so this week I'm making a little bag for her P.E. kit -

I have used 4 floral prints from the Little Bird Told Me fabric range from Lewis and Irene -
38cm x 30cms for the bag, and small pieces for the letters and flowers.
I fused web to the back of the fabrics for the letters and flowers before cutting them out - it makes it so much easier when stitching the shapes in place - no pins needed!
I used the Big Shot machine and the following dies to cut out the flowers and letters -
Flower, layers and leaves, by Dena Designs - 657690 -
http://www.sizzix.co.uk/product/657690/sizzix-bigz-die-flower-layers-leaves
for the capital  - Lollipop Shadow Capital letters - 657892
http://www.sizzix.co.uk/product/657892/sizzix-bigz-alphabet-set-4-dies-lollipop-shadow-capital-letters
and for the lower case letters - Lollipop Shadow Lower Case letters - 660112
http://www.sizzix.co.uk/product/660112/sizzix-bigz-alphabet-set-4-dies-lollipop-shadow-lowercase-letters
Remember when cutting out letters the fabric needs to be right side down on the die because the letters and cut in reverse.
The letters and flowers were fused into place one side of the bag -
I placed the letters about 12cm from the bottom edge, and 5cm in from the edge, but this doesn't have to be exact., and added the flowers underneath and to one side. I stitched all the letters and flowers in place as this bag may take quite a bit of hard use!.
To make the bag I folded it in half, right sides together and stitched the side and bottom - leaving a 2cm opening 2.5cm from the top -
and I used a zig-zag stitch to neaten the raw edges.
A 1cm fold was made around the top edge, onto the wrong side, and then folded over again 2 .5cm and stitched down -

The opening in the side seam allows a ribbon to be threaded through as a drawstring.
The bad is complete and can be turned right side out ready for use. If you like you can pull the ribbon through so that the knot is hidden inside.
I think I might have to make a new bag for her big sister - but that can wait until later.
Next week is a mystery.
Have fun stitching.

Plastic Flowers Frame

Hi friends!

The tutorial that I bring you today, I think you may be surprised ... Do you know what kind of material I used to make the flowers to decorate the frame? Plastic bottles!

This is a quick and easy project to renew old frames and provide them with a romantic touch.

You need:

Cut the bottle with the scissors to get plastic squares. Cut flowers and leaves using the Sizzix Bigz Die - Flower Layers & Leaves. Make small cuts with scissors to further separate the petals.

Bring the edges of the flowers and leaves of the candle flame, without touching it, to shape flowers. To closer, more deforms the plastic.

Glue the flowers to the frame with the hot glue gun and paint with the spray paint.

What do you think? A quick project with our Sizzix Big Shot Plus and recycled material!

Ciao amici!

Pretty flower

Hi everybody!

Today, I suggest a little lightness with a pretty creation in tulle.

This embellishment can decorate your pages, minis and cards of scrap but also pins, clamps or other headbands of little girls.
Everything is possible!

For this, you just need to choose 2 pieces of tulles, to cut several flowers thanks to the die flower layers & leaf and to put them together using a brad. Position the smallest in front and the biggest behind!

Done! So what do you think?
