Christmas Tree Shaped Box

Hi Everyone! This is Anna.
Today it's the 6th of December... Christmas will be here soon and Sizzix have got just the thing for all your papercraft needs: 8 Christmas free paper! The sentiments is included on the free papers, you have an option of cutting it out as a rectangle or to die cut it. I used some this papers for my project today.
I am starting to think about Christmas gifts and this year I want them to be handmade, as this little tree treat holder. I think this would be a great table decoration, gift or place card. Don't you think?

How to make:
Use the Sizzix Framelits Die Set 5PK w/Stamps –Trees, Leafy (658623), the large triangle from this set, and cut out five shapes from cardstock. Cut out four trees from different patterned paper.
Adhere the trees above any triangle.
Cut out a square. Then adhered all together, placed washi tape along flap, as shown.
Embellish any tree box with flower star, snowflake, star, twine, tag with sentiment...
Fill tree with little gift or candy, fold up the bottom, and secure flap with washi tape to close.
You have a gorgeous yet relatively quick gift box with the help of your Big Shot.

I hope this gives you some ideas for quick but beautiful last-minute gifts.
Thanks for stopping by...
See you next Friday!

Flag_of_Italy Per le amiche italiane! :)
Ciao!
Ecco come ho fatto...

Materiali:
cartoncino bianco
carta fantasia
carta glitter
nastro decorativo (washi tape)
spago rosso e bianco
strass
colla, colla a caldo

Procedimento:

Really quick gifts for Christmas

Hello - happy December!

So you may have noticed that this blog isn't entitled Quick Quilt finished - and that would be because my sewing machine decided that it didn't like the thread I was using to quilt with - so I have to undo the bit that I had managed and then start again - I will keep you posted! and put up a photo of the completed quilt when I've finished it!!!
So instead this week I have another treat - which I managed to make while at the Quilt Show at Shepton Mallet last weekend -

I bought these hessian bags and decorated them with stars and Christmas trees - but you could use any shape you like!
I bonded a fusible web to the back of my chosen fabrics before I die cut the shapes - using Bigz die 656340 for the Primitive stars and Bigz die A10195 for the tree.
I then arranged them and fused them onto the bags - job done - you could stitch them on if you want.
You could also use ready made calico bags - or if time allows you could make your own.
I think I'm going to give one of these to my eldest daughter to use for her Christmas shopping - which will make her smile!
I have another gift idea for next week - it will take slightly longer, but is fun!

Meanwhile check out our new web page -

for more ideas.

Keep calm and keep sewing!

Christmas cards for kids !

Hello!

Let’s start December with a crafting activity for kids! I had fun realizing beautiful greeting cards with my son and nieces! A nice idea of activity for a rainy Saturday morning.

They started by choosing their favourite dies! Here is their 100% Christmas selection!

659378 Sizzix Framelits dies set 6PKw/stamps-Snowman Blueprint
658276 Sizzix Framelits dies set 8PKw/stamps-Merry Christmas Tree
659377 Sizzix Framelits dies set 5PKw/stamps-Retro Christmas

Material:

Cardstock: American Crafts
White paper
Black Versafine ink, Chalk Prima ink
Versamark
Embossing powder: American Crafts
Felt-tip pens: Stabilo

A snow man, a Santa and a Christmas tree! Good taste, don’t you think?

I gave them some cardstock, black, green and red ink pads, Versamark (I sacrificed this pad!), turquoise and gold embossing powder and colourful felt-tip pens.

Each of them printed the chosen pattern. Then they had fun using the Big Shot to cut their shapes. Even Noelie who is 5 managed to cut her dies properly!

Then they added colours to their dies and glued them on cardstock. The title is made the same way. It was a good way to review their english vocabulary or to work on their handwriting!

Colourful and creative cards which will be sent to family this month to wish them all a Merry Christmas!

Thank you Sizzix for this good moment spent with my family!

Karine

Bonjour !

658276 Sizzix Framelits dies set 8PKw/stamps-Merry Christmas Tree
659377 Sizzix Framelits dies set 5PKw/stamps-Retro Christmas

Matériel :

Cardstock : American Crafts
Papier blanc
Encre Versafine noire, Chalk Prima
Versamark
Poudre à embosser : American Crafts
Feutres : Stabilo

Silver Lining!

I have been creating some  clean, simple, graphic projects of late so I decided that it's time to get a little bit messy again using one of my favourite products, namely Treasure Pewter Wax Gilt which comes in a little glass jar and lasts forever (ish).

Last Year Tim Holtz designed a stunning Bigz Poinsettia Die and a set of Texture Fades folders, one of which coordinates with the poinsettia flowers to add stunning detail. I wanted to go with a black and white colour palette using the silver/pewter gilt to add the texture.

To create the background I used another of Tim's classic Christmas Texture Fades  featuring a pine branch and my old favourite Decorative Strip die Vintage Lace also by Mr Holtz.

I started by die cutting the three sizes of petals from light chipboard before adding the embossed texture with the coordinating Texture Fades folder and gently curling the petals. Next I painted each die cut using Black acrylic paint which dries really quickly.

The Treasure Pewter is has an oddly pleasing waxy texture and smells of shoe polish, all you need to do is dip your finger in the pot and lightly brush over the textured petals, you can do this with a soft cloth but I like the smell!

Next I cut a small cross in the centre of the smallest flower using a craft knife and took some silver pearl flower stamens which I threaded through the cross in the centre before trimming away the excess cotton loops.

Finally, I mounted them onto the centre of the medium flower using a hot glue gun which was mounted in turn onto the centre of the largest flower.

I cut a rectangle of quality, heavyweight black card ( I always use Inspire me Papers card stock) measuring 105 x 140mm and embossed the pine leaves before adding the pewter wax gilt a little at a time until the desired effect was achieved. I couldn't resist a bit of bling so I added a random smattering of ivory, silver and black adhesive pearls with a few clear diamanté gems for good measure.

Before mounting the flower onto my white base card (180 x 140mm) I wanted to create a lace border trim so I took a strip of the same black card that I used for the background and scrunched it into a ball 5 or 6 times (very therapeutic!)  before flattening it out and die cutting my strip of lace.

I then took the lace die cut and applied the wax gilt before trimming to size and attaching to the base card together with the other elements.

Really easy, great fun and if you haven't discovered these waxes you should check them out, there are many different styles, brands and colours on the market, they don't come cheap but they last for years and years. They are a great way of bringing a touch of vintage class to your favourite die cuts and embossing folders too.

Loving You

Hi Everyone!

Have a nice day!

Daria.

Home sweet home Smash Book page

Hi everybody!

Today I want share with you my last Smash Book page. I use it as a journal, so I normally make a page every week. In today's page I have used the House Thinlits Die set from Karen Burniston, I love this little house! You can use it with the Pop'n Cuts range, but you can also use it by itself, as I have done here.

Supply list:
I love how you can use the house die as a stencil and take the most from it. Do you want to see how it works? Then watch the video :)

Happy Monday!

¡Feliz lunes!

another quick gift idea

Because I love @sewjustinesew I'm a drawstring pouch production line today

Hello everyone! It's December already - which means we are so close to Christmas now I can smell it. Maybe that's the Christmas scented candle I've got lit, though? Now is the time to start the Christmas shopping panic, and maybe for some of you the local craft fairs and school fetes. One of my friends had a Christmas fair last week and I made her a heap of drawstring bags using my tutorial from earlier in the year. Instead of patchwork I just cut squares using my big shot pro (6.5" square die). Of course, if you don't have a big shot pro, you could cut these yourself. I managed to make 12 bags in half a day, which she was then going to fill with sweets and chocolate coins. They're a great quick gift idea, perfect for teachers or school friends, or as stocking stuffers.

12 little bags ready to be stuffed with sweets and chocolate for @sewjustinesew's charity craft fair

You can find the original tutorial for these bags (which I made with 2.5" squares) by clicking here.
