Wedding Tips: Guest book

Hello everyone!

How are you? Did you enjoy your weekend? It’s time to go to the beach and have a lot of fun and relax don’t you find? Instead if you are organizing a wedding , like me, to use sizzix products means to have a lot of fun!!!

Today I want to show you a new creation for my friend’s celebration: the Guest book!

We have thought to create an album where the guests will insert a thought for the bride and the groom together to a Polaroid picture;) It will be an amazing keepsakes!

ALBUM COVER

Materials you need for the album cover :

• Vanilla album ( you can find it in a local craft store)
• Turquoise and white cardstock by bazzill
• Kraft cardstock
• Brads and jems
• Polaroid, background and phrase stamps from Studio Calico
• Noteworthy stamp from cats life press
• Brown ink
• Cork heart
• Glue or double side tape
• Big Shot machine (item code 657000)
• Sizzix Movers & Shapers Vintage Fun & Globe Set (item code 657838)
• Bigz Die Flowers 3D ( item code 656545)

Instructions for the album cover:

1. Use your favourite background stamp on the album
2. Print a photo you prefer, I printed the same pic printed for the favours and with a stamp make a Polaroid.
3. Add some roses and brads in their center, I chose 2 different colors, white and turquoise.
4. Glue them on the album cover with double side tape or hot glue gun
5. Add the heart and the word “love”
6. Stamp and add the tag noteworthy
7. At the end the globe from tim holtz …I have cut it with three different papers, white, turquoise and kraft. It’s lovely to build it by yourself. The wedding theme is the “travel” so this shape was perfect!

BOX

Materials for the box:

• An album box , I bought it in a local crafty store
• turquoise, white and kraft card stock from Bazzill
• paper doily
• a day to remember stamp from cats life press
• gem
• phrase stamp from studio calico
•  Big shot Machine (item code 657000)
• Sizzix Bigz Die Flower 3D (item code 656545)
• Sizzlits Decorative Strip Filmstrip Frames (item code 656621)

Instructions for the box:

1. Cut a negative strip on the kraft cardstock
2. Glue under it a white stripe of paper
3. add a paper doily and the stamped tag “a day to remember”
4. add the date with tiny stickers
5. make a rose with turquoise cardstock using the die and roll it with a pencil or using your fingers, in the center apply a brad
6. add the title “foto” with the alphabet
7. finish with the stamped stamp

Sweet layout with Sweet Treats!

Hi there readers!
Today I've got for you another layout inspiration! Paper and canvas layouts are my favorite projects, and using Sizzix dies to embellish them makes creating pure pleasure! This time I decided to use  old family photo together with pretty, retro papers from "Nostalgia" Collection by My Mind's Eye. I've chosen two dies to work with - both from wonderful 657723 - Sizzix Bigz Die - Labels & Buttons and 657721 - Sizzix Bigz Die - Borders & Hydrangeas. Both of them give us sweet cut outs that are a prefect element of composition on crads, layouts - and for altered art of course!

Here is how I finished my layout step-by step:

Here are some close-ups on the details too - I think it looks just perfect with this photo!

As you can see making layout with these dies is just super easy and fun - try it by yourselves!

Summer's still not here, but the cushion cover is.

I have just had a lovely week sorting my sewing room (it's almost done and next week I will be working in it) - the question is why has it taken me so long? I keep getting distracted by pieces of fabric and I just have to stop and think about how I'm going to ,use it , or sometimes why did I buy that?  So distractions aside I will have it sorted and I will take a photo for my next blog just to prove it.
I have also done some sewing and have lots more ideas for new projects but before I get sidetracked I will continue with the cushion cover that we started last week.

Join together the pieced blue and white squares to the plain squares as shown in the picture below, so that you have a pair.

Join the 4 patch squares to the pieced blue and white squares as pictured below, but please note that 2 sets are the same but  the top one is different - this is correct.

Press all the seams and then next week I will put the pieces together to complete the cushion front.

Page "Love" par Karine Cazenave-Tapie

Here is the sweetest lay out, full of love, that will be a gift for my friend Séverine and her son Paul…I needed to immortalize this cuddly moment between the two of them after a photo session !

Bonjour tout le monde,

Aujourd'hui une page toute douce remplie d'amour pour mon amie Séverine et son petit garçon Paul...Une pause câlin après une séance photos qu'il me fallait abosolument immortaliser !

To embody delicacy and sweetness, I chose to use the die bordure 657708 Flower Garden with Scallops.

J'ai tout de suite sélectionné le die bordure 657708 Flower Garden with Scallops qui pour moi incarne la douceur et la finesse.

As my friend is pregnant, I also chose to use the die Textured Impressions Embossing Folders 2PK - Sewing & Measuring Tape Set 657671.

Et comme mon amie attend un bébé, j'ai utilisé également le die Textured Impressions Embossing Folders 2PK - Sewing & Measuring Tape Set ) 657671.

This is a very simple lay-out: grab a printed paper to use as background, then add strips of paper cut into spear, masking tape, the border die cut into white paper (to make it stand out more).

J'ai construis ma page tout simplement avec un papier de fond imprimé, j'ai juste rajouté quelques chutes de papiers retaillés en pointes, du masking tape, le die bordure découpé dans du papier blanc afin qu'il ressorte bien.

I glued my picture, a transparency on top of it, and added some accents !

J'ai collé ma photo, du transparent par dessus et enfin mes embellissements !

I cut two circles of different sizes out of the embossed white paper, then I coloured the circles with Adirondack blue ink (Pool).

I added the title and some wooden accents.

J'ai découpé deux ronds de tailles différents dans mon papier embossé blanc, que j'ai ensuite teinté avec de l'encre Adirondack bleu (pool).

J'ai enfin ajouté mon titre et des petites décorations en bois.

To complete my layout, I splashed it with white paint.

Lia's Birthday party

Hello everyone!


Lately, my mom, cousin and I have been working on special gifts/invitations for Lia's first birthday and we came up with that cute bunch of creations to decorate the table and add a very girly touch to the party.

We simply used :

Sizzix ScoreBoards XL Die - Candy Jars

Sizzix ScoreBoards XL Die - Box w/Lid, Cake Slice

It was SO easy and fast to create 20 of those with the Bigz dies as you can use up to 3 pieces of paper at once!


Simply place your paper(s) on the dies, run if through the Big Shot, fold everything that needs to be folded and glue!


Then you can embellish the way you want :)


I used Kesiart papers for the invitations & gifts, a tiny bit of twine, a few stickers and wood veneer embellishments and voilà!


Easy and fast and just so gorgeous!

Wedding Favours

Hi Everyone!
How are you?  So I want to show you a so  lovely idea to create so cute wedding flavors!!!  I'm working hard for the details of a wedding ... one of my best friends is getting  married.... in July how many things to do!!!

Here the materials you need to do the same :)
You can use this idea for all occasions! My friend has chosen a color combination of white and turquoise:)

• Framelits scallop rectangles (item code 657905)
• Framelits circles ( item code 657551)
• Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die - Tattered Flower Garland(item code 657824)

• turquoise cardstock
• stamps of your choise
• embossing powers
• kraft cardstock
• brads and any embellishment you like
• vellum

General Instructions:

First of all play with you sizzix dies , I'm loving using the dies on the vellum, so cool effect!

Print with your stamps some tags , I have used a circle stamp that is perfectly cut with the circle framelits!

You have to mix embellishments and dies :)

Tag Amour

1. create a background with your favorite stamp
2. add rub on and a stripe from an old book paper
3. add the picture in a little scalloped rectangle frame using the framelits, it's so cute don't you think?
4. add other embellishments like the word "amour" and the butterfly

Tag Our vacation

1. Create a background with your favorite stamps
2. add the "our vacation" tag cutting it with your circle framelits it will be so precise!!!
3. Add embellishments and under the stamp the flower in vellum using the sizzlits decorative strip by tim holz and the fringe flower from the sweet treaters for you set. It's a very cool effect! 
4. use your glimmer mist of any other sparkle spray to give more light to the tag.

Tag Noteworthy

1. Create your background with a stamp
2. add noteworthy tag
3. add your fringed flowers cutting the turquoise card stock and the vellum. I looooveeee it!!!!Add some little gems and spray your glimmer mist!

In Living Colour

Textured Impressions Embossing Folders Have always been popular with papercrafters although most of us don't seem to realise how much creative scope there is at our fingertips and I include myself among that number.

It is only in the last twelve months that I have begun to fully explore the myriad of techniques that one can use to create some truly stunning art.

Below is a very simple card made using a very simple folder (Textured Impressions Embossing Folders 2PK - Blossom, Circles, Leaves & Diamonds 657394), a handful of die ink pads (I've used a brand called Memento, but any die inks will work) and an ink blending tool. I used a pale cream patterned paper from the My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline range.

I embossed the paper using my trusty Big Shot and then I tapped the ink blending tool over the ink pad before carefully rubbing over the flower heads starting with a pale pink shade. I always start with the lighter colours and build them up slowly.

Next I added a pale green shade to the leaves, don't worry too much if the colour overlaps slightly. When the two base colours are in place its time to build up the tones, if you look at leaves carefully you will see lots of blues and yellows too which blend perfectly using transparent die inks.

To complete the card I tore away the base and matted the embossed motif onto the spotty paper, tied a length of twine around the bottom part and attached a stamped sentiment which was cut out using a Framelits circle before mounting it all onto the pink, checquered base card.

This is just one simple technique but it's very effective. And remember, practice makes perfect!

Storage ideas for Sizzix products

Today I am sharing some ideas on how I store my dies and embossing folders.

First up, Movers and Shapers.

I love my Movers & Shapers, as they are small pieces I like to keep them safely suing something that is easy to see many of them at once. As they are magnetic, I decided to use some metal biscuit tin lids.

They are the perfect depth to not have wasted space, and leaves enough space for me to write in each lid what the general theme of the lid/tray is.

And then I have my mini Billy unit (from Ikea) which hosts a variety of Sizzix products.

The boxes are old Ikea (wooden CD box), Muji (DVD acrylic case) ... On the side there is metal strip which is perfect for larger Movers and Shapers. This unit is opposite this:

I use the Big Shot Pro every day. It is my manual die cutting machine of choice. The rest is a bit of a mess, but it is a creative mess after all!

Jubilee Week

This past weekend was a big celebration here in London. We had a street party, beacons and more. And even though I am Spanish I was happy to celebrate the Queen.

As my mum was visiting, we decided to go even to London on Sunday to see the Thames Pageant. we arrived a bit late so we did not see much in real life even though we were really close to Chelsea Pier (where the royals embarked) but the large screen was rather good alternative.

The street party was a big success, loads of people came.

The food was mostly handmade! And very patriotic!

My mum made two paellas and a spanish omelette which were consumed rather quickly.

And the end to a beautiful day (the weather was on and off) we went to our nearest Beacon, to see fireworks and the lighting of the Beacon. It was beautiful and even emotional!

Now I need to scrapbook it all!
