A sweet little card today!

Good morning everyone!

It's been a while since I haven't shared a card with you. I'm not a big cardmaker but lately, I've been more and more into this new hobby to me and I've been enjoying searching for new designs, new stamps and new dies to work with.

A few days ago, I received Sizzix new Framelits and all I can say is "WOW!" - I think I have found my new favorite Framelits :)

Don't you just love those? I DO :D

This is what you'll need to make this card :

Here's my card...

I used the Framelits die to cut the label shaped window in the front cover of my card.

The remaining piece of paper is mounted with 3D foam tabs and is glued on the inside of the card.

Then cut the Heart and Wings into patterned papers and glued it on the label inside.

Then stamp your sentiment stamp on white cardstock and mount on your Heart & Wing die-cut.

Send to a friend and make her happy! :)
Have a great day!

Envelope Book

Today I would like to share an idea that I did a few years ago. It is basically a card holder made with envelopes. The problem sometimes is to find envelopes that are different sizes in a diversity of colours that match up. Well, that is not a problem when you have the eclips with you as you can make envelopes is a huge variety of sizes and proportions.

I chose Card Fronts cartridge, but many cartridges have envelopes on them. I selected the C5 envelope as I like the shape and is a good large envelope.

One of the great things about the eclips is that it tells you what the sizes need to be for the C5 envelope but you can change those very easily by changing the height. So, it is extremly easy to make each envelope say 1inch smaller than the previous one.

Also, the eclips will score all the envelopes. As I was using Bo Bunny's double Dot paper, which is a thick paper, I tested it out to make sure that the scoring didn't cut through the paper, but it left enough indentation to fold nicely so I recommend always to do a test on the same type of paper before.

Once I had all the envelopes cut I glued them together, make the covers using chipboard and then binded them using the Bind it All.

I always leave the decorating for last. I am not sure if that is the correct way to go around making a project, but it works for me. I used my butterflies dies and stamps as well as the banner set.

And i just kept to those two sets to add a bit of pattern inside.

Each envelope will hold either cards from my friends and family or memorabilia. I am not sure just yet.

The little stickers are Basic Grey as is all the patterned paper from the Konnichiwa collection.

Each butterfly I stamped I tried to make it slightly different by using two coloured inks, both Memento.

Next time I will have to try with other sized envelopes, like a DL. Ideas, ideas...

For You card

Hi everyone!!!
How are you? How was your weekend? I spent it cooking yummy food, I love cooking and staying with family and friends and you? I want to enjoy the last days of summer over here :)

Today I want to show you a quick card, it's very simple but I love it sooo much!

You need of:

Take a look immediately ;)

How to make it?
It's very simple, here some easy steps to follow:

  1. Cut a stripe of vanilla cardstock of 12 x30 cm and fold it in a half
  2. Cut another rectangle from this paper of  12x14 cm and cut on it a primitive star.
  3. Sew around the sides of this rectangle with your sewing machine.
  4. Put a piece of paper behind the rectangle to create a sort of background for the small star that will be placed inside, you will have two primitive stars in this way.
  5. Cut another little primitive star and glue it inside the big one. It's a cool touch, don't you find?;)
  6. Use your mister huey's to give more light to your card.
  7. Add 3d double side tape on the rectangle and adhere it on the card
  8. Add for you and the stamped phrase
  9. at the end add twine and wood button:)
Take it easy :)

NB: STAY VERY TUNED BECAUSE I'M ORGANIZING A LOVELY GIVEAWAY FOR YOU ALL MY SWEET READERS :) Here on this amazing blog!!!! This week!!!!:)

Christmas bunting part 2

Last week I couldn't decide how to put the bunting together - now it's complete with alternating calico and pattern throughout - so that it's double sided - I think it's very sweet and very versatile - hope you like it -
Of course you could make it with christmas fabrics on both sides - below is a new selection of christmas fabrics to play with -
You can either have a colour theme or mix them all up for fun.
Enjoy the planning and the making.

One of my little jobs here at Sizzix central is to make the Birthday cards for all my colleagues. Sometimes I have to work very quickly (Because I forgot!) and below is one such card. The recipient was my good friend Dave who is to fork lift trucks what Lewis Hamilton is to cross stitch......just kidding Dave!

I broke out the scissors and my trusty Framelits Circle set and the rest was easy. The rivit effect was created using an eyelet setter, I just punched the card enough to leave an impression rather than cut a hole. The Packing crate was cut from the most realistic wood effect card EVER in my opinion, it cuts beautifully and is so versatile. The companywho makes this card is Inspire Me Papers and you can find them at http://www.inspiremepapers.co.uk/ I also use their plain cardstock which is top quality.

In all, once I came up with the idea the card took about ten minutes to make from start to finish.

Movers and Shapers - a bit different way!

Hi there, it's Friday again!
I'd like to tell you about an idea I had in last days... I'm that kind of personality that keeps thinking about new, sometimes crazy ways of using the supplies she already has in her stash... this time my eyes turned on some extra cool Cargo Numbers Set by Tim Holtz (657841Sizzix Movers & Shapers Magnetic Die Set - Cargo Stencil Number Set) and I thought - hey, how about some... stamping?
It didn't take me long to try the new idea of course - and - to be honest - I love the effect in every inch!
And here is the story how it all happened...

I started with creating a simple layout composition - all based on Prima Marketing papers and embellishments. I wanted it to be as "boyish" as possible, because I wanted to use an old photo of my dad and his 2 friends.I looked through my "Movers and Shapers" collection...

To add some extra elements to the composition I cut out some frames from patterned paper with Framelits dies: 657938Sizzix Framelits Die Set - Frames, Decorative #2.

When the composition was almost ready I started my crazy stamping - just as I expected, Movers and Shapers work great as foam stamps!

For the stamping I used one of my favorite Ranger inks - Archival Jet Black. It gives beautiful, deep black color, which goes great with the style of the Cargo Numbers I think.
Here is the final effect and some detail photos too - how cool is this?

Of course I didn't forget about cleaning the dies after using - I used some baby wipes and stamp cleaner:) Bot to be honest - Archival Ink gets permanent after drying anyway, so any of my cut outs will be affected:)

I hope you liked my idea - looks like the Sizzix products have more possibilities than I expected! :)
See you soon!

“So Pretty“ Layout

Hi there!

Here is a new layout, a very girly one, starring my niece once again!

Here are the dies I used:

-Sizzix Framelits Die Set 9PK w/Stamps – Kites 657581
-Sizzix Framelits Die Set 5PK w/Stamps - Bold Pop Designs Set 657851

1-                 Compose your layout by superimposing strips of pattern paper. Add some strips of washi tape.

2-                 Use the new Sizzix dies and some stamps to decorate your lay-out. I used several shapes: sun, bicycle and kite.
Convenient and fast, isn’t it?
Start by stamping the selected shapes on a white cardstock, then place your die on your stamped image and put the whole set in your Big Shot for cutting. Your stamped image has been cut! I definitely love this process!

3-                 I used the kite as a “normal“ die, no stamped image this time.

4-                 Use two different alphabets for your title.

5-                 Add some brads.

See you next Thursday for a new realisation!

Page "So Pretty"

Bonjour !

Une nouvelle page très girly sur une encore une fois ma petite nièce !

Voici les dies utilisés pour réaliser cette page :

-Sizzix Framelits Die Set 9PK w/Stamps – Kites 657581
-Sizzix Framelits Die Set 5PK w/Stamps - Bold Pop Designs Set 657851

Decorate your layout backgound with gesso!

Happy Wednesday everyone,

This week we are going to get our fingers messy – with gesso!

Here’s a list of materials I used:
I started with creating the page background: I wanted to make the decorated center panel slightly smaller than the dark patterned paper background so I trimmed 10 cm off from the edge of one white cardstock sheet. Then I took my jar of gesso and using an old bonus card I wiped the entire cardstock panel with white gesso. This layer of gesso would glue my decorative strips on the background.

Using my favourite decorative strip die 'Regal Edging' I die-cut five strips of white cardstock and placed them on the gesso layer. Then I wiped them over with another layer of gesso, covering the entire panel. I wanted the beautiful details to show perfectly so I rubbed the strips with my fingers removing excessive gesso from the images.

When the panel was completely dry I inked the panel with three different red shades of Distress Ink. A layer of gesso does not absorb water-soluble inks so I lightened and mixed the colours by wiping them with a baby wipe. At that point I still felt that something was missing so I finished the panel with stamping text spots with brown StazOn ink. Note: If you want to stamp detailed images like text on a gesso layer remember to use non-soluble inks like StazOn. Water-soluble inks will not give a perfect result!

The lovely photo frames were cut with Framelits die ‘Heart w/Crown’ and I used the same die to cut my black and white photos, too. I adhered the decorated panel in the middle of the dark patterned paper and wrote the journal with white gel pen on the background. I finished the page with writing the title (6 vuotta - 6 years) with alpha stickers, attaching two strips of lace on the sides of the panel (Tacky Glue worked great for this) and gluing a few small beads with Glossy Accents on the page.

Finished!

I hope this tutorial inspires you to take out our favourite Sizzix dies and to create your own decorated page backgrounds.

Have a nice week!
