Acetate Flip-its!

Hi everybody!

These days I have been playing a lot with my new Flip-its dies. The new range are Framelits dies, so I wanted to try if I they were able to die cut some acetate to create a transparent Flip-its card and... Guess what? They did it! So here is an acetate flip-its card. I love it!

Supply list:

I love the way the three squares look on an acetate base because they seem to be floating in the air.

I have used the Phrases Framelits and stamp set. it is great for card makers, because you get a lot of sentiments and labels to mix and match.

Happy Monday!

¡Hola a todos!

Estos días he estado jugando con mis nuevos Flip-its.

¡Feliz lunes!

Mini Album – You and Me

Happy Friday Everyone! This is Anna.
With Valentine's Day coming, I thought I'd show you a simple mini album that you can make out of two piece of cardboard, a few pieces of pattern paper and cardstock and some Sizzix dies.
This quick & easy mini could be used for multiple projects.

Items used:
two 17x17 cm chipboard pieces
a variety of cardstocks
patterned paper: 8 free downloadable papers by Sizzix, Toga - Tourbillon d'automne, Bazzill - Love Doilies - Heart Attack, Sassafras - Serendipity - The countdown
acrylic paint
binder rings
hole punch
sewing machine and yarn (optional)

How to make:

Cover:
Cut two pieces of 17x17 cm chipboard or cardboard to create your cover. Choose your favorite patterned paper for the cover and print or stamp the title. Let a few drops of red and black color.
Cut a stripe of turquoise patterned paper, cut a banner edge and glue down as shown. With Bigz dies cut out a Doily from white paper and a heart from red patterned paper and cardboard. Adhere above turquoise stripe.
Apply two different piece of washi tape on the top right hand side. Cut out a small star from cardstock and chipboard and adhere above the washi tape. If you want add stitches.
Adhere together to the front of the chipboard.
Punch holes in the board and use that as a template for punching holes in the rest of your pages.

Interior pages:
Choose a variety of papers, tags and envelopes. I used five 17x17 cm sheets of patterned paper or cardstock, some 10x17 piece, envelope and tags. These are the base of interior pages.

On these pages, I used the fabulous Sizzix die, called “Flip-its” by Stephanie Barnard. This is so much fun to make.
I die cut a card Movers & Shapers L Die - Card, Fancy Flip-its from cardstock and patterned paper and I place it at the center of the page, sort of as “flip-up page”.
I decorate this card with the coordinating Stamps+Dies and Label Framelits: Framelits Die Set 20PK w/Stamps - Birds & Tree (658833), Framelits Die Set 7PK - Labels, Fancy #6 (658831). What is important is that you must glue the Flip Its card along one edge only, otherwise it does not open.

You can decorate each page however you’d like. Assemble using binder rings.
I love to create mini albums that have a variety of sizes and lovely embellishments sticking out all over the place, so you don’t have to get too caught up in perfection here.

Now for some of the inside pages...

Hope you enjoyed this little book!

Flag_of_Italy Per le amiche italiane! :)

Materiali:
due pezzi 17x17 cm di cartone
cartoncini vari
patterned paper: 8 free downloadable papers by Sizzix, Toga - Tourbillon d'automne, Bazzill - Love Doilies - Heart Attack, Sassafras - Serendipity - The countdown
pittura acrilica
anelli apribili
perforatore per buchi
macchina da cucire e filo (facoltativo)

Come fare:

Copertina:

In alcune pagine, ho usato la favolosa fustella Sizzix, chiamata Flip-its.
Potete decorare ogni pagina a piacimento.

A presto

Loving the Flip-its!

These Flip-its dies are really so much fun! This time I made a flip-its card using a variety of dies, getting a clean layered look.

Supply list:
  • Paper: Studio Calico "Snippets"
  • Adhesives: Glossy Accents. double sided tape, foam squares
  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Others: Twine, black gel pen, plastic drop, blue rhinestone

Here you have a view of the card closed:

And here's what happens when you open the card. The middle part flips and another design appears with the rest of the sentiment. I love it!

Making these cards is extremely easy and fun. Just die cut and fold the card base and die cut and adhere the other elements to the base with foam squares. After that, stamp your sentiment and finally add some embellishments like some twine, a rhinestone and a touch of black gel pen.

Happy Monday!

Materiales:
  • Papel: Studio Calico "Snippets"
  • Adhesivos: Glossy Accents. double sided tape, foam squares
  • Tintas: Memento Tuxedo Black

¡Feliz lunes!

Flip-its easel card

This weekend I have been playing with some Flip-its dies and they are so much fun! This time I combined the Majestic Flip-its die from Stephanie Barnard with the Bunch of Flowers Thinlits set from Paula Pascual, what a great combination!

Supply list:

When I was putting all together I came up with the idea of "flipping" the flip-its card and I turned it verticaly to create an easel card. Here you have a view of the card closed.

And here is a picture of the easel-flip-its card in action. Isn't it cute? I love how it turned out!

Happy Monday!

Este fin de semana he estado jugando con algunos de los troqueles Flip-its. ¡La verdad es que son muy divertidos! Esta vez he combinado el Majestic Flip-its de Stephanie Barnard con el set de Thinlits Bunch of Flowers de Paula Pascual ¡Qué gran combinación!

Materiales:

Flipping Cards!

I know the title of this blog sounds like I'm fed up of my job but it couldn't be further from the truth. I am of course referring to the fab ,new Flip-its cards from the wonderfully talented Stephanie Barnard who is a licensed designer and spokesperson for Sizzix over in the USA.

We were lucky enough to Have Stephanie join us at our trade show in Birmingham last year and she was a great success largely down to the fact that she is a first rate demonstrator who's passion shines through when sharing her ideas and techniques.

The Flip/its cards sit alongside sets of coordinating Framelits dies and sets of Framelits/stamps which all work together beautifully making my job easy, as I was gifted the task of creating all the samples for our recent trade shows.

You can see from the images above that the dies are of the Movers & Shapers variety allowing you to use magnetic drop in dies should you wish to create an aperture in your card. The smart thing about these dies is that they create a card which 'flips' on it's axis allowing you to place a message/design front and back making them great fun to create and receive.

Below are a few examples using the various dies and stamps in Stephanie's new collection, to see more of Stephanie's work follow this link

each pair shows the same card flipped so that you can see both sides......Enjoy!
