A little bit of crazy

Today I've gon crazy with colours, embossing and sequins but once in a while I think we all need a little bit of crazy.

I die cut the frame from the Thinlits Die Set 6PK - I Heart This and added some patterned paper behind the opening in the frame. The frame says "I {heart} this" and that didn't really fit with my card so I cut a fish tail banner for my main sentiment and added above the "I {heart} this".

Next up I stamped three different flowers from Framelits Die Set 5PK w/Stamps - English Garden in VersaMark and heat embossed them using different colours of embossing powder. I scattered the flowers in two corner of the frame and layered them on top of one another using foam adhesive.

The final touches to this playful card was some sequins, a smaller sentiment and a hand drawn line running around the entire background.

Supply list:
Sizzix Big Shot Starter Kit (Powder Blue & Teal)
Sizzix Accessory - Magnetic Platform for Wafer-Thin Dies
Thinlits Die Set 6PK - I Heart This
Framelits Die Set 5PK w/Stamps - English Garden
Cardstock
Patterned Paper (My Mind's Eye, Simple Stories)
VersaMark
Embossing powder (WOW)
Embossing tool
Stamps (Simon Says Stamp)

---o---

A layout with lots of different dies

Hello Sizzix friends!!
I am so sorry that my post is going up later than usual this Sunday, but the trouble is it's raining so much here that the basement of our house is flooded and I had to deal with that for most of the day. We have a pump that is supposed to take the water out but it really was no big help since the power was cut for several hours. Ok, that was my day. I hope you had a better one so far!! :-)

Anyway, I have a page that I'd like to share with you as usual:

And I even took some close up shots.
Unfortunately the colours are not great due to the abysmal lightning conditions....

It was nice to play with some great Sizzix dies and stamps to take my mind off things.

The framelits stamps are great because you see exactly where you are supposed to cut out your stamped image. It's really easy to get a nice clean cut.

For my title I combined one of the Sizzix thinlits dies with some letter stickers.

Finally a close up of some of the bunting pieces I cut out with a new Bigz die and some Tattered florals with some framelits leaves.

These are the Sizzix Products that I used:
Sizzix Big Shot Machine Only (Powder Blue & Teal)
Sizzix Framelits Die Set 12PK w/Stamps - Here & There
Sizzix Framelits Die Set 5PK w/Stamps - Simply Lovely
Sizzix Framelits Die Set 5PK w/Stamps - English Garden
Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 7PK - You & Me
Sizzix Bigz Die - Tattered Florals
Sizzix Accessory - Susan's Garden Tool Kit
Sizzix Bigz Die - Pennants

In addition I used  Heidi Swapp 'Dreamy' collection and letter stickers and flowers från Papirdesign -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Enkelt!!

Sizzix Big Shot Machine Only (Powder Blue & Teal)
Sizzix Framelits Die Set 12PK w/Stamps - Here & There
Sizzix Framelits Die Set 5PK w/Stamps - Simply Lovely
Sizzix Framelits Die Set 5PK w/Stamps - English Garden
Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 7PK - You & Me
Sizzix Bigz Die - Tattered Florals
Sizzix Accessory - Susan's Garden Tool Kit
Sizzix Bigz Die - Pennants

I övrigt använde jag papper från Heidi Swapp 'Dreamy' collection and letter stickers and flowers från Papirdesign.

A feminine and romantic card.

Hi there Sizzix friends!!
Today I have a card to share in a romantic and slightly shabby style.

I have used one of the the frameworks dies here as well as one of the framelits sets with both stamps and dies.

Almost no combination is as feminine and romantic as pink with light blue. I cut out my leaves from both cardstock and a patterned paper and quite like the effect of the patterned leaves.

I like to paint on my diecut pieces with gesso. Here I have diecut a piece of chipboard and I find the gesso makes it look a little softer.

Thank you all for looking today and for any sweet comment you like to leave me. It's so nice with a little feed back here on the blog!!

The Sizzix products I used are:

Sizzix Big Shot Machine Only (Powder Blue & Teal)
Sizzix Frameworks Die - Courtyard
Sizzix Framelits Die Set 5PK w/Stamps - English Garden

Other products; Lemoncraft, Prima, Melissa Frances

Sizzix Big Shot Machine Only (Powder Blue & Teal)

Spring in your Step!

..... Don't want to speak too soon but we may have seen the last of the snow which has been clinging stubbornly to the hills around my home for the last 2/3 weeks. My daughter and I went for a walk on Sunday without our coats on so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

The daffodils which seem to occupy every roadside verge in Wales these days are picking their heads up after their premature snowy burial cruelly stopped them in their tracks and the blossom is starting to appear on the trees which means I'll start sneezing any time soon!

At the beginning of January I made this simple flower garland and at the time Spring seemed like a very distant prospect, but I kept the photo's waiting for the right time and here it is!

The dies used where all from the Botanical Sanctuary and English Garden collections designed by Scrappy Cat for Sizzix and they are all Sizzlit dies. Click on the links above to see the individual collections.

All of the flowers and butterflies were die cut from quality, smooth heavy weight white card. I started by cutting two shapes. Trim around the flower heads of one of the die cuts and put to one side.

Use an assortment of Distress Inks to colour the foliage, I have used the colours Mustard Seed, Crushed Olive and Faded Jeans but feel free to use any die inks that suit the purpose. Build up the colour starting with the lightest first until you have the result you desire.

Use a spritzer Bottle filled with water to spray onto the inked die cut creating a mottled effect. Use your preferred ink shades to colour the flower heads, mist as before and attach to the complete die cut once dry. To Add a little pizazz use a light dusting of Spray and Sparkle glitter varnish.
Choose a selection of your favourite flower and butterfly die cuts and use the same inking techniques on each, try blending the ink, particularly on the butterflies to create interesting two tone effects. Once you have your assembled die cuts attach each one to a plain garland made of twigs.
