From The Heart Blog Hop

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a nice week and did something special for those you love. A handmade card or small present is a treasure and shows that you took the time to give part of yourself to another person. I love that!

Valentine's Day was the perfect day to launch my new From The Heart collection. So we celebrated over at the Sizzix US blog by having a Valentine Blog Hop!  Each member of the Design Team created a project using one or more of my dies from this release and W.O.W. Every one of them is amazing...

Good news... IT'S NOT TOO LATE for you to enter to win two prize packages that Sizzix is giving away (I heard through the grapevine they are giving dies from this collection!) Make sure to leave your comment on the Sizzix_US blog by Wednesday, February 20, 2013 midnight pst for a chance to win.

I will also be giving away one of the Square Box dies that I used to make this mini-album with (see below). Visit my blog and comment to be eligible to to win! You will also see a tutorial showing how I made this fun chunky book. The next one I make will be for my seven month old grandson- I'm thinking a fun little board book would be so cute. This die is so versatile- there are tons of ways to use it.

OK, are you ready? Prepare to be inspired!

Aren't these projects gorgeous? I could look at them all day long...

Which is your favorite? Thanks for coming by!

ScoreBoard ATC Box

I'm ready for spring- aren't you?

Here's a look at a couple of dies from my new collection, From The Heart. I made a ScoreBoard ATC Box from matboard and matching ATC card. The box will also hold candy, jewelry, small treasures, business cards, gift cards and lots of other fun things. There are Movers & Shapers that coordinate but I chose to leave the box plain this time.
Here are the Sizzix dies I used:

658056  Sizzix ScoreBoards XL Die - Box, Artist Trading Card

658053  Sizzix Bigz Die - Flower Layers w/Heart Petals

658050  Sizzix Sizzlits Die Set 3PK - Hearts & More Set

657721  Sizzix Bigz Die - Borders & Hydrangeas

657119  Sizzix Bigz Die - Leaves

657114  Sizzix Bigz Die - Flower Layers #9

658054  Sizzix ScoreBoards L Die - Gift Card Folder & Label

657184  Sizzix Movers & Shapers Die - ATC & Corners

Other Supplies:
ink, paper, tissue paper, buttons, stamp, drywall tape, Bazzill chipboard, Viva Decor Inca Gold- platinum, double sided adhesive, hand dyed seam binding, watercolor paper, adhesive pearl

  1. Cover a piece of matboard with some drywall tape. With a stencil brush, using a circular motion rub ink on through the tape, then peel it off. Don't worry about getting even coverage.
  2. Run stencilled matboard through die cut machine using ATC Box die.
  3. Assemble box using strong double sided adhesive.
  4. Rub brown ink along the edges of the box.
  5. Cut Heart Flower from off-white cardstock. Distress edges with brown ink. Position flower on box and add leaves and zigzag border. Add button to middle of flower. Adhere in place.
  6. Cut ATC card from heavy chipboard. Ink with platinum Inca Gold, rub off and buff.
  7. Cut leaves, zigzag border, heart flower, label, and hydrangea.
  8. Cut smallest flower from 20 layers of tissue paper. Punch a hole in the middle and secure petals with brad. Fluff up.
  9. Paint hydrangea using blue ink and water brush. Adhere two layers together.
  10. Stamp label and tie around box with seam binding.
  11. Place card in box for a special person!

Hope you all have a great Valentine's Day! I don't know if you celebrate it like we do here in the States, but you never need an excuse to celebrate those you love. See you in two weeks!

CHA

Hi everyone! I am just back from the Craft & Hobby Show in Anaheim, CA,
and thought I would show you a little of what was going on there.
The picture above shows the banner over the Convention Center. Some of my
designer friends are on their way over to set up their displays (yes, that is a leg
you see sticking out- part of a mannequin).
Here is my new line that debuted at the show. It is called Picket Fence and it
is all about the garden. There are 16 dies and folders- hope you love them.
This collection will be available in June!
Part of the collection... there are 5 XL ScoreBoards that are great for project bases
and decorative Sizzlits and Textured Impressions folders to match.
Beth Reames is the talented and amazing designer who designed the packaging samples
and found this cool potting bench where the samples are displayed. Love her work!
My crafty friend Lisa Fulmer and I did a taping for Craft Time TV, a new show
airing this year, where we demonstrated how to create one of the new Watering Can dies.
The taping crew was so professional and nice I hardly remembered I was nervous.
Here's where Karen Burniston and I demo'd our new collections.
It's so exciting to be surrounded by all of this creativity! The Sizzix booth was
hopping the whole time. Hope you enjoyed a little glimpse at CHA. Will be back next
time with fun Valentine projects from the new From The Heart collection!
