Super Easy Gift Box

I especially LOVE making cards, but I also LOVE to decorate gift boxes. It is nice when you have found a perfect gift for someone that you also have a beautiful box to go with it! In craft stores you can find boxes of various shapes and sizes. I always use double-sided adhesive sheet to attach papers to the box.

The flowers you see on the box are really beautiful and SUPER EASY. Die-cut with Framelits Die Set - Circles, Scallop (657552) lots of circles. I used four different sizes from the Framelits Set. I used nine circles to make one flower.

1. Make a small hole in each circle and attach together with a brad.
2. Wrinkle each layer separately.
3. Wrinkle all layers.
4. Open the flower, layer by layer.

Die-cut some flourish with Bigz Die -Elegant Flourishes (656639) and some leaves with Movers and Shapers Die Set - Mini Branch and Leaf (657208). Stunning and SUPER EASY!

Criss Cross Card

This stunning congratulations card will be certainly noticed. In this time of the year when nature is blooming I really like making cards which also bloom. In this card I've used some best seller dies from Sizzix, all of them designed by Tim Holtz.

CRISS CROSS CARD

This is called Criss Cross Card. You need two square cards. Take one card and cut it diagonally from center top to the bottom left. Take the other piece and cut it diagonally from the center top to the bottom right. Add adhesive to the square back of one of the card stock pieces and attach pieces together. Attach patterned papers to the square inside and to the triangles.

Use adhesive tape to the bottom of the middle panel, as well on the bottom of the triangle flaps that will be on top of the card. Tape the card base together as a pocket.

Tag Inside of the Criss Cross Card is cut with Movers & Shapers Die - Tag & Bookplates (656938) and the letters with Decorative Strip Die - Upon A Time (656916).

I love making flowers. This Bigz Die - Tattered Florals (656640) is so beautiful and it goes so well together with Bigz Die - Tattered Leaves (656927). I used two kinds of patterned papers to this flower, I inked the edges with Distress Ink (Mustard Seed) and used some Yellow Stickles Glitter glue. Flowers are bend and wrinkled by hand and attached to each other with 3D adhesive squares. The leaves are also inked with Distress (Peeled Paint) and decorated also with Lime Green Stickles.

The Bigz Die - Elegant Flourish (656639) makes the final touch in to this card.

Little Red House

In Finland we have Mother's Day 13th of May. I made this card for my grandma, because I know how much her little red house means to her. Next week she will be 90 years old and she is still able to live on her own.

This House Die is so neat. You can open the door and hide your message inside the house!
The house is cut with ScoreBoards XL Die - Gift Card Holder, House (657378) and you also need a pair of extended cutting pads with this die.

So first you need to cut your "card base" and fold it in half. I used red card stock for my card base. Then you can cut and trim different parts of the house from different materials and attach them to your house shaped card base.

I also made a little heart shaped hole to the door with a help of a Framelits Die Set - Hearts (657561). With Framelits Dies you can see what you cut. With a help of a post-it note you can keep your die locked in place during the cutting. I use this trick all the time.

You can add some really nice embellishments to your house. I decorated mine with Flowers, 'cause my grandma is crazy about flowers. Flowers are cut with Decorative Strip Die - Tattered Flower Garland (657824).

Flowers look pretty nice, don't you think? The Tattered Flower Garland Die is perfect 'cause there is so many different sized flowers and leaves. And the cat button is definitely my favorite part of the card! It looks a bit frightened and that's why I placed it on the roof. My grandma loves cats too.

And look there is a little mouse running in the bottom of the card. I bet my grandma will really really like this card. :-)

Hot Air Balloon Card

Hi you all! It's finally getting warmer in Finland. Warm enough so I could take my Big Shot outside and do some crafts in the garden and enjoy the sun! :-)

As you can see my cutting plates are quite worn out, but it's all right, you don't have to change them very often.

I made this graduation card for my neighbors daughter. I think this Hot Air Balloon is a good topic for graduations cards - you get the spirit of freedom from the balloon.

I used Framelits Die Set - Circles (657551) to cut five red circles. If you want each of the circles can be different color or pattern. Fold all the circles in half and glue them together to create the 3-D hot air balloon.

The basket is made with Framelits Die Set - Pennant Plain (657570). Just trim the tip of the triangle away and ink the edges. I made the ropes from nice cord, but you can also draw them.

Remember the best thing about Framelits is that you see what you cut and with a help of a post-it note you can lock your Framelits Die so it is really easy to cut exactly from the right spot. And with these basic shapes you can create almost everything. :-)
You can make some really nice variations of this card if you use different kind of Framelits Dies to make the balloon. For example Hearts, FlowersScalloped Circles or Scalloped Hearts look really nice in the balloon. Embellish your balloon with flowers, buttons, bows, rhinestones etc.

Have fun and go outside with your Big Shot!
