My very first step was to die cut the bag.

By the original Bag belongs a flap which I removed so
I can create my own (hand)bag.
I added two strings which I used for the handles.

This is how it looks like the original

I distressed the edges with green ink pad and prepared my embellies.
I used the matching Circles die to die cut the "present" and I
coloured it in with Copic markers.

I love that Daisy die - no wonder I often use it on my projects :-)

OTHER PRODUCTS I USED:

Prima Marketing/Ingvild Bolme Distress Ink pads

Crafts for children part two: Colouring and die cutting card

Hi everybody! Elena here.

Are you enjoying your summer? Your children sure do, as they don't have to go to school, so we have to keep them entertained and one great way to do it is crafting with them. So today I want to show you a really fun card they can make with techniques than can be easily made by them: colouring and die cutting.

 Supply list:
  • colored pencils
  • Card: Green, white, pink, yellow, black
  • Adhesive
  • Foam squares

To create this card I have used the free Colour Your Own Papers by Sizzix that you can download just clicking on the image below.

You just have to print them in the card of your choice, I have used white and pink card, and colour them. You don't have to be great at colouring, just have fun!

Then I have cut my coloured paper in 1 cm strips and have attached to my card base with foam squares.

Finally I have die cut my sentiment from the Happines Phrases Thinlits die set and the flower is from the Starter Kit. It matches perfectly with de coloured paper!

Have fun crafting with your children this summer!

Happy Birthday Card by Gerry van Gent

Happy Sunday Sizzix friends!
Today I am sharing a card my daughter and I created for a friend of hers.
We used the Free Paper Downloads "Colour Your Own Papers" and
the New paper punch by Tim Holtz.

Before I adhered the cupcake I gave it to my daughter
to colour it. She chose the colours herself and I matched with
a coordinating double card.
I cut carefully the top part of the cherry so when glued
it will be on top of the card. I added two extra leaves -
- you will find a branch with a heart on the Free Paper Downloads.

I cut carefully the top phrase "Happy Birthday"
and gave it to my daughter to colour it in.

Then I simply adhered it under the cupcake.
I used the two hearts for balloons.

I added a punched bow for a fun touch.

Thank you for visiting us today!

Gift Bag

Hi there,

today it's Saturday and I hope you have a nice weekend.
I would like to inspire you with a small gift bag made from the free Papers by SIZZIX. You can find them here

I printed the design on strong vellum and made a gift bag. The tag I printed on white cardstock and colored with watercolors.

I used my Big Shot Plus for the new SIZZIX BigZ Flower, Daisies. Isn't it beautiful?

I wish you a lovely weekend!
See you next saturday!

Punch Fun!

Father's Day in the UK is here in four days and counting and if you haven't made your card yet then Sizzix is here to help with another set of those fabulous free downloadable paper sets, just click on the highlighted text to follow the link.

I am introducing a brand new Sizzix product today which has been created in conjunction with the creative juggernaut that is Mr Tim Holtz, but before I do.....

I started by strategically cutting a piece of the grey chevron patterned paper before inking a 95 x 140 mm rectangle of kraft card. Incidentally, the stamp sets used on all the cards for this particular blog post come from the Precious Remembrance Shop

I next cut a rectangle of the green patterned paper, a strip of the orange glasses border and the Father's Day banner which I attached to the kraft rectangle using adhesive foam pads to mount the banner.

Die-cut one of the 11 heats on the Bigz Heartfelt die and ink the edges before adding the splatter detail with a stamp.

Now!! remember that I mentioned a new product well here it is! a new range of fab paper punches from Sizzix/Tim Holtz. There are a great range of shapes with more on the way and they cut beautifully! The punches feature a really comfortable ergonomically designed soft grip handle and the cool locking switch on the top which is great for storage as it means that they can be stacked.

I had forgotten how much I loved using punches, they are so much fun to have around, every creative home should have a stack of them, I can't wait to introduce them to my daughter.

I punched out a couple of bows from heavy weight ivory card using the Bow, Medium punch before trimming the ends of the ribbon from one of the shapes which I then inked together with a strip of the same ivory card. Next, I wrapped the strip of card around the heart before mounting the two bows together using tiny adhesive foam pads to add some dimension before attaching over the strip.

Nice quick make this one, I'd be a happy Dad if this appeared with my
cup of tea on Sunday morning!

I thought I would introduce you to the rest of the punch family so I made the following cards in a frenzied four hour spree yesterday! that's the beauty of punches they are so quick and easy and perfect for quick mini makes.

The leaves were punched, inked and scrunched before being creased and folded down the centre.

Same technique to create the leaf dimension but I used a few different
Distress Inks to add the colour.

Glitter card butterfly.....'nough said!

Distress Inks again, Love the sentiment, I have to remind myself of this on a daily basis!

Nice shape, nice colours!

Same flower inked and layered.

And finally......

"Happy Father's Day" Layout by Gerry van Gent

Hallo Sizzix Friends!

Next Sunday we are celebrating Father's Day! Therefore I
created an A4 layout to give as a present to our # 1 Dad :-)
This photo of him and the kids was taken on Mother's Day
which makes it even more special to me/us!

I began this layout by choosing two pattern papers for the background.
After that I cut out lots of embellishments from the Free Paper Downloads
for Father's Day. For one of the embellishments I used the Circles dies
- I used here two sizes of the Circles
1

Daisies were die cut from white cardstock.
Each daisy has two layers.

3

"2015" was die cut from both white cardstock and Father's Day free papers.
The pattern paper numbers were used as a "shadow".
