Sweet Wishes card

Hi Sizzix friends!

On this festive Friday I have prepared a pair of  clean and simple cards. I like to use two cardstocks in the same colour one as a background and the other one with embossment.  It gives an elegant result.

To make these beautiful cards I have used the following supplies:

flowered washi tape, the sentiment and brads.

I have covered a little piece of white cardstock with the washi tape.

I have die-cut this heart.

I have embossed a white cardstock which is 0,5 cm smaller than the
card size. I really love this embossing folder !!!

Now I have all the pieces to make my card, I've chosen the colour of
the brads to match the washi tape.

And finally this is the result:

The same card in different colours.

I have used the following Sizzix products:

I hope you have enjoyed these clean and simple cards. Thanks for your visit!

Have a creative and happy Easter!

He utilizado los siguientes productos Sizzix:

¡Feliz y creativa Pascua!

Fill the jars with some Easter candy and embellish with paper and die cut your favorite design. I used Love Bird and Woodland Flower dies design by Craft Asylum.
This is the Easter card I made, using a few of the papers and the Fanciful Fairy die design by Pete.

Per le amiche italiane! :)

Buon venerdì a tutti,

Buona Pasqua!!!

Materiali:
barattolo
cartoncini: bianco, oro glitter
carta da lucido
centrino di carta
colore acrilico: bianco
colore spray
paillettes
macchina da cucire
scotch spessorato

A happy trio of baby quilts

Hello again, and Happy Easter to you.
As you can see, from the photo below, I have made progress on the baby quilts - and I think I might be able to finish them this weekend.
I think you'll agree they look quite different, but all have the rectangle in common, it was a happy decision to make the task easier, which worked for me!

This quilt is a rail fence, using 2 rectangles for each block.
I laid the whole quilt out and then made the blocks for each row, joined the rows and there we have a cot quilt top.
This quilt uses the square with the rectangle to make a rainbow of blocks that I joined together in sequence.
This is actually the quilt I made first - using the white strip to alternately with the bright spots.
Now they just need to be quilted and bound - but I think I might manage that this weekend.
So not quite HRH but certainly a bright beginning!
Next week I think I will be showcasing a 'new' die - it's not been in our catalogue for very long and this will be my first time using it - so watch this space!
Enjoy this very special weekend.
Angela

Mini book Hello World ! by Karine

Mini album Hello World!

Hello!

Today’s Thursday, and I am delighted to show you a glimpse of a new project that I will teach in France from May onwards. Colours and glitter for very dynamic & cheerful pictures!

Supply list:

Cardstock: American Crafts
Papers: 4heures37, Studio Calico
Alphabets: Jenni Bowlin Studio
Labels: Custom & Craft
Glitter: Pause Créative
Stamps: Studio Calico, Bloomini Studio, Denim Tampons

Dies:

658300 :  Sizzix Big Shot Starter Kit
660801 :  Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 4PK-speech-bubbles
660804 :  Sizzix Die Set 3PK-happiness-phrases
660815 :  Sizzix Die Set 3PK-Woodland-leaves

Here I used the newly launched Sizzix dies! They are fantastic, with a thin and elaborate design. Wonderful! To add brightness and sparkle to my mini album, I felt like working with glitter.

Double-sided tape is perfect for this technique! All you have to do is cut some leaves, words and geometric patterns in this adhesive.

Then glue your die cuts on your background or your photo, peel off the upper plastic layer of the tape and sprinkle with thin glitter! Remove the extra glitter and here you are! Your glitter is fixed as if by magic! This is an easy technique that makes a good impression, don’t you think?

Have a lovely day,

Karine

Mini album Hello World !

Bonjour !

Cardstock : American Crafts
Papiers : 4heures37, Studio Calico
Alphabets : Jenni Bowlin Studio
Etiquettes : Custom & Craft
Paillettes : Pause Créative
Tampons : Studio Calico, Bloomini Studio, Denim Tampons

Dies utilisés :

658300 :  Sizzix Big Shot Starter Kit
660801 :  Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 4PK-speech-bubbles
660804 :  Sizzix Die Set 3PK-happiness-phrases
660815 :  Sizzix Die Set 3PK-Woodland-leaves

Karine

Bags of fun!

Today is a complete change of direction from last week, I wanted to do something 'off the page' as they say.

I love using recycled materials wherever possible and I can often be found haunting the local charity shops for things to die-cut or decorate.

I have been working with fabrics recently, and I'm forever picking the brains of Angela, our in-house textile guru asking increasingly ridiculous questions about various fabrics and their properties thinking that one day I can put all this knowledge to some good use (don't hold your breath!)

I am using another of those stunning Sizzix Bigz flower dies. I love the contemporary feel of the shapes and the leaf is just gorgeous as you will see. The die in question is called Flower Layers & Leaf #2 by the clever people at Doodlebug Design.

I raided the local charity shops and left with a grey clutch bag, two pairs of jeans and some lace fabric (I get the funniest looks!!). I cut away the seams in the legs of the jeans and layered two strips of denim back to back, I put a sheet of Bondaweb in between the strips and applied a hot iron. Having that double thickness will give my flowers more spring or body, and another advantage of using the heat fusible web stops the fabric from fraying when die-cut.

I die-cut four large denim flowers and four lace flowers before laying a lace flower over each denim flower.

I folded the flowers in half and half again before securing with a a few stitches where the flowers come to a point. I recommend a good strong thread for fabric of this thickness. I repeated the process with the other three sets of flowers and placed them point to point. At this stage you can stitch them onto a circle of fabric to keep them together ready to mount onto your project.

I die-cut one of the smaller flowers from a single layer of darker denim backed with bondaweb to stop any fraying. Next, i used a needle and thread to add a few stitches down the centre of each individual petal to give the flower some added dimension before dipping into my bling box which is a treasure trove of recovered costume jewellery including bracelets, necklaces and earrings etc. I came up with a rather lovely diamante gem which, if memory serves, came from a hair band! I added the gem to the centre of the flower before mounting this into the centre of our assembled denim/lace flower. I die-cut the leaf from the same dark denim before attaching both to the rear of the flower.

I attached the flower by stitching through the bag, any unsightly stitching can be covered with a button if preferred. Not bad for recycled materials? You can use this flower as a broach or to decorate a hat too if preferred.

Here is a card made using the same die to show the oval centre and retro star shape which are part of the design. I love the versatility of these shapes and this is another in a long list of dies that I could not be without.

A beautiful vanilla, raspberry and white chocolate easter cake

Hi everybody!

One of my favorite annual traditions is that which involves to godfathers buying a typical Easter cake to his niece; this cake is called Mona and usually is topped by chocolate eggs.

Besides the cake and chocolate eggs, usually it come with beautiful trimmings and some toy figure. Is not that wonderful?

If we are among the most daring that we like to handmade it , we can also decorate with die cut paper elements

here some details of my proposal for this year, hoping that the person that is going to receive it as a gift is not seeing this blogpost at this moment (fingers crossed!)

Happy easter again and be happy!

The Sizzix products I'm using in this tasty project are:
