Oh Christmas tree!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, relaxed and with lots of love (because love is the most important thing at Christmas, isn't it?)

Way back in July I made a Christmas quilt that has now been published in an Italian magazine called Cucito Creativo. Want to see what I made?

I used squares and half square triangles for the tree, and kept things in a traditional red and green colour scheme - with red as the background (because white is never a good colour for my family, and I'm sure ours isn't the only slightly messy household. Christmas involves lots of eating and chocolates and things - a white background wouldn't have held up well here!)

...I appliqued stars onto the points of the tree and quilted really simply, just following the lines of the squares.

As with most of the projects I make for Sizzix, this now lives with head office so it can be used as a sample at shows and so on. I rather miss it, so maybe next year I'll make another one for me.

  5. Oh this is so cute and I actually love the idea of doing a "half" Christmas tree like the second picture shows. I'd miss it also.
