Mercedes ´s First Post

Hi, I´m Mercedes , a quilter, craftter and  needleworker  who lives in Madrid,  Spain with my family. I can´t believe this is my first post here at Sizzix ´s blog sharing my work with all the great Sizzix ´s family  and with this wonderful  team. I´m thrilled to be part of this Creative Bloggers team and share a little corner of me with well known  European bloggers.
First I introduce myself a bit. I have been a creative person  since I can remenber, just a little girl.
I have lived between fabrics around me because of  the work of my family. I love cross stitch, quilting, sewing, crocheting, scrapbooking, painting. I really started quilting around 2004 and blogging in my needlework  blog Las labores de Mercedes a year later. I love sewing and adding  my  personal touch to my projects, that usually is  romantic, vintage and  colourful, although sometimes enjoy doing primitive and folk things.I sew for my family and friends  and my house is full of the sewing, quilts, cushions, mats and whatever make me happy.

And now here is my  first idea to start  with Sizzix quilting  dies.
I wanted to try those lovely spools that every quilter has around her and that I love.

Supply List:

658322 Sizzix Bigz XL 25" Die - Half-Square Triangles, 2 1/2" Finished Square

658324 Sizzix Bigz XL 25" Die - Squares, 2" Finished (2 1/2" Unfinished)

656847  Sizzix Accessory - Cutting Pads, Bigz XL 25", 1 Pair

Some scraps of fabric in different pastel colours
White fabric
Lace

I started cutting   squares in the long die. You can get nine squares every time  and add multiple layers of fabric, so you will save time , can you imagine ? Great!!

I did the same with the  half square triangles ( 14 in only one time ). I took the opportunity to  cut different cotton fabrics.

After I had all the pieces cut, I sew all the pieces together ,remembering to add the lace at the top and bottom before sewing. This one give a delicate touch to the known block.

Now you can sew  as many as you want and do a quilt or a little quilt as me. I ´m finishing it  for my next post next week.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!!
Love
Mercedes

..................................................................************* ..................................................................

Materiales:

658322 Sizzix Bigz XL 25" Die - Half-Square Triangles, 2 1/2" Finished Square

658324 Sizzix Bigz XL 25" Die - Squares, 2" Finished (2 1/2" Unfinished)

656847  Sizzix Accessory - Cutting Pads, Bigz XL 25", 1 Pair

Trozos de tela de estampados en pastel
Tela blanca
Puntilla

Mercedes
