Hello again - it's so nice to be snuggled up sewing in the warm, while it snows outside! and to be sewing red hearts is all the more satisfying. This week I am sewing the triangles together to create a heart block as shown below.
First lay out all the pieces you need from your selection of different red fabrics – making sure that you like the mix of colours.
Join the last 2 rows of triangles together as shown and then
attach the black corner triangles
How easy was that – now you have a choice of what you are
going to make – a cushion cover, lap quilt, wallhanging, because that will
determine how many blocks you will need to make.
Then join the triangles into rows as shown ( press the
seams as you go)
When you’ve made that choice continue to make the heart
blocks until you have enough, but lay all the pieces out for all the blocks so
that you don’t finish with a block all with all the same fabrics. Next week we will add sashing.
So enjoy the sewing and the weather ( my 4 year old
grandson is praying for enough snow to build a snowman, so that he can send it
to his cousins who are in Uganda and miss the snow!! )
