How To: fast mini album for Polaroids with Janna Werner.

Hello everyone, Janna here. Today I would like to share a short tutorial about how to create a mini album that can be used for mini Polaroids like Fuji Instax mini, for example.

This is my craft table right before starting to create the album - you can see, you don´t need that many supplies (just ignore the baskets :) ). This mini album can be created within 30 minutes, so it is a great last minute gift as well. And it doesn´t matter whether you are a beginner or advanced, the album can be adjusted, if you love more layers, for example.

Gather a few of your favorite mini paper pads. You need approx. 5 papers, then you´ll have 8 pages on the inside + a back and front side. Fold the papers in the middle, use a bone folder to flaten them.

I also attached two crepe paper circles and folded them in the middle. This makes the album a bit more interesting - you could also add vellum or fabric, for example. Just keep in mind to not use too many papers and inserts as the album might get too thick and won´t close properly in the end.

Use a sewing machine to bind the album, just stitch along the fold. Do not use the narrowest stitch or the paper might get damaged.

Now your mini album is nearly done - yes, already! You can decorate the inside as well, of course, but the base frame is done. The good thing about creating a mini album with small paper pads is, that the papers usually have a white back which leaves lots of place for journaling. Now let´s move on to the front cover. I have a tag which I sewed on top of a piece of vellum. On top of the tag is a smaller paper, just to add more dimension and something to look at. Now I want to decorate the tag even more. Therefore I cut leaves and a flower with the Big Shot machine and the Bigz Die - Flora + Bigz Die - Arbor.

As I mentioned before, the mini album might be a bit too thick to close properly. Just adhere a piece of twine around it. As you glue the tag on top, the twine will automatically stay in place.

You can leave the flower and leaves as is or paint them, with watercolor or Gelatos, for example. I like to use it only on the outside of the shapes, to add a bit more depth. But you can also color it completely.

Add a bit of golden spray on top of the flower, if you´d like a decent shimmer. As you can see in the detail shot below, I also attached pearls and petals. That´s it!

Hallo ihr Lieben, hier ist Janna. Heute möchte ich euch ein kurzes Tutorial zur Herstellung eines Mini Albums zeigen, in das kleine Polaroids wie z.B. von der Fuji Instax mini reinpassen.

Das Mini Album kann man innerhalb von 30 Minuten basteln, es ist damit auch ein super last minute Geschenk. Außerdem ist es egal, ob ihr Anfänger oder Fortgeschrittene seid, das Album lässt sich an fast alle Wünsche und/oder Vorlieben anpassen.

Sucht ein paar eurer liebsten mini paper pads zusammen. Ihr braucht ca. 5 Papiere, damit habt ihr dann 8 Innenseiten + eine Vorder- und Rückseite. Faltet die Papiere in der Mitte und glättet sie mit dem Falzbein.

Ich habe zudem noch zwei kreisförmige crepe papers hinzugefügt. Man kann z.B. auch Vellum oder Stoff mit einarbeiten, so wird das Album noch interessanter. Nur dran denken, nicht zu viele Papiere oder Materialien zu verwenden, da das Album dann unter Umständen nicht mehr richtig schließt.

Mit einer Nähmaschine wird das Album dann gebunden, einfach an der Falz langnähen. Nicht den kürzesten Stich verwenden, da die Seiten sonst evtl. beschädigt werden können.

Jeetzt ist das Album schon fast fertig - ja, so schnell! Natürlich kann es auch innen noch weiter ausgeschmückt werden, aber das Grundgerüst ist fertig. Das Gute an den mini paper pads ist, dass die Rückseite der Papiere meist weiß ist - so habt ihr gleich Platz für handschriftliche Eintragungen. Weiter geht´s mit der Gestaltung der Frontseite. Ich habe einen Tag auf ein Stück Vellum genäht. Auf dem Tag ist ein weiteres Papier befestigt, einfach um mehr Dimension zu erschaffen und einen kleinen Hinkucker zu haben. Jetzt will ich den Tag noch weiter schmücken. Dafür habe ich mit der Big Shot Maschine und Bigz Die - Flora + Bigz Die - Arbor Blätter und eine Blüte ausgestanzt.

Wie ich bereits erwähnte, kann es sein, dass das Album etwas zu dick ist, um richtig zu schließen. Wenn das der Fall ist, dann einfach einen Bindfaden drumherum wickeln. Der Tag wird obenauf geklebt, so hält der Faden automatisch.

Die Blume und Blätter können so belassen werden oder mit Wasserfarben bzw. Gelatos ausgemalt werden. Ich finde es am Schönsten, wenn nur der Rand eingefärbt wird, so entsteht mehr Tiefe.

Sprüht etwas Goldspray auf die Blume, um dieser einen leichten Schimmer hinzuzufügen. Wie im letzten Detailbild zu sehen ist, habe ich auch noch Perlen und Blütenblätter befestigt.
