Life's a Picnic

Last month, the Sizzix website featured a designer challenge where five of us bloggers produced projects to a very broad brief based around a summer theme. One of the sections was 'Picnic Invites' which really excited me because I have been on dozens of picnics with my family this summer, in fact, as recently as last Sunday.

We have National Trust membership and its nice to spread your blanket, sit in beautiful surrondings and make believe that its your own back garden for a couple of hours.

As we don't have any Picnic specific dies currently in our range it made the challenge extra special and made us dig deep into our hidden creative reserves. I eventually decided to go with a fresh colour scheme and the beautiful simplicity of Framelits Circle dies.

I know that many of you will have seen the invite which features a slice of watermelon on a plate, but the real fun starts when you remove the watermelon to discover the invitation printed inside.

Framelits are perfect for creating bespoke greetings and invitations as you can use your computer to print out the text to fit the die in question which is what I did in this case.
