Welcome to part 2 of this blog - when the identity of the project is revealed.
Well actually you have a choice - I am making a Christmas tree skirt, but you could make it slightly differently and have a table centre - your choice.
When you have joined together your strips and pressed them you need to cut the square into 4 squares and then cut those squares diagonally - as shown in the picture below.
Bye for now.
Well actually you have a choice - I am making a Christmas tree skirt, but you could make it slightly differently and have a table centre - your choice.
When you have joined together your strips and pressed them you need to cut the square into 4 squares and then cut those squares diagonally - as shown in the picture below.
Re- arrange the pieces so that you have a chevron effect, as below - and stitch the diagonal sides together with a 1/4" seam, making sure that you match the seams as you go.
Press the seam and repeat with all pieces to create 4 new squares.
Square the edges so that all four squares have the same size triangles at their narrow point.
Join the square together - if you want this to be a table topper then join all the seams to make one large square.
If this is going to be a tree skirt leave one of the seams unstitched as shown below.
Layer the backing, wadding and pieced front together and pin.
Quilt as desired.
That is all I have time for this week - so we will finish the tree skirt/ table topper next week.Bye for now.
